    Professional, loving staff; clean apartment

I'm very pleased with this community - the staff (special thanks to Heidi and Karen) are professional, loving, and truly went above and beyond, giving us real peace of mind. My apartment is spacious and clean, the food is delicious, and there are lots of activities (library, bible studies, bingo, group walks, pool table, gardening patio). They handled moves, TV/phone setup, Medicaid and hospice coordination smoothly; I trust and highly recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Fairview Assisted Living & Memory Care elicits a strongly mixed impression. Many reviewers highlight the facility’s strengths: a generally clean, attractive interior; a range of communal spaces (library, recreation room with pool table and large TV); an outdoor patio and gardening areas; on-site barber and beauty services; and safety measures intended to reduce wandering for residents with cognitive impairment. The activities program appears active, with organized options such as bingo, group walks and faith-based gatherings. Several families also cite positive experiences with hospice coordination and assistance navigating Medicaid.

Care quality and staff behavior are described very unevenly. Numerous accounts praise direct-care staff as compassionate, welcoming and attentive — families describe staff who provide personal care, show empathy, and go above and beyond in day-to-day support. However, other accounts raise concerns about inconsistent responsiveness, delays in attending to residents, and an operational culture that can prioritize busywork over direct care. These patterns suggest variability in staffing levels and frontline supervision that can affect day-to-day reliability.

Clinical and safety-related patterns arise repeatedly. Reviewers describe gaps in clinical-monitoring practices (for example, inconsistent vital-sign procedures), concerns about medication management and dosing practices, and occasional issues with care coordination for residents with memory impairment. There are also references to delays associated with access-control systems (doors opening slowly) and intermittent sanitation and odor-control issues in some areas. Together these indicate areas where clinical protocols, supervision, and facility operations may be inconsistent.

Dining and hospitality receive similarly mixed feedback. Some families appreciate freshly prepared, flavorful meals and note a pleasant dining environment; others report inconsistent meal temperature and quality at times. Move-in logistics and ancillary services (TV/phone setup, room moves) are often handled smoothly according to several accounts, but billing and management transparency are a recurrent source of dissatisfaction. Complaints include disputes over charges, perceived high cost relative to room size, confusing Medicaid assistance processes, and more serious claims involving eviction notices and financial conduct — these latter items are characterized in reviews as allegations that merit further inquiry and documentation.

Communication and management responsiveness are notable pain points. Multiple reviewers describe delayed or non-existent callbacks from leadership, unresolved grievances, and perceptions of unresponsiveness to family concerns. Conversely, some families report specific staff or managers who resolved issues effectively. Prospective residents and their families should therefore plan for in-depth, documented conversations about clinical protocols, medication oversight, staffing ratios, billing practices, and escalation pathways. A thorough memory-care tour, review of written policies, and verification of hospice and benefit coordination procedures are advisable before admission.

About Fairview Assisted Living & Memory Care

Fairview Assisted Living & Memory Care in Spokane, WA, has served seniors since 1997 with both assisted living and memory care services. The community is set in a three-story building, and folks can choose from cozy studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, some with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and safety features like walk-in showers and grab rails. The staff aims to provide a safe, comfortable place by offering help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management, and there's always someone available 24 hours a day if a resident needs them.

The team focuses on creating personalized care plans, both for residents who need daily support and those living with memory issues like Alzheimer's or dementia. The community has semi-private and private options, and those who need memory care get extra safety, structure, and activities to keep their minds and bodies active. There are dedicated activities ranging from fitness classes and neighborhood walks to games, movies, and time in beautifully landscaped gardens. Fairview has private suites for those wanting more space, pet-friendly policies, and a mix of indoor and outdoor common areas for socializing or quiet time.

Meals come prepared by a culinary team and are served in dining rooms or in residents' apartments, and special diets can be managed if needed. The staff can help with things like diabetic care, medication reminders, and monitoring-but residents have to manage some things like their own incontinence. There's also help for non-ambulatory folks who need standby assistance moving from bed to wheelchair, and staff will help monitor blood sugar, though they can't give insulin injections.

Family management keeps Fairview feeling welcoming and community-oriented. Residents can use the on-site beauty salon, relax in the library, or join programs meant to support social and emotional well-being. There's also transportation available for appointments, trips, or errands. Wellness programs and fun events fill up the calendar, and the atmosphere stays friendly and nurturing. The team works hard to keep everyone as independent and active as they can, offering different levels of support based on each resident's needs. Reviews, pricing, and more information about apartments and care options are available to families considering Fairview. The place sees over 64 residents supported by nearly 50 staff members, creating a close-knit community for those age 55 and up.
