    Welcoming, clean, friendly, pet-friendly community

I have my own room with a shared bath in an older, well-kept home, and they even welcomed my dog - she's doing well. Staff and administration are accommodating and helpful, caregivers are friendly and kind, the food is good, the place is clean and social - I highly recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the provided review summaries for Serenity Gardens is positive, with particular emphasis on the quality of staff and the general living environment. Multiple comments highlight that staff — both caregivers and administration — are friendly, kind, accommodating, and supportive. Reviewers explicitly note that staff help residents through difficult moments and assist with adjustment, and some go so far as to 'highly recommend' the community. This consistent praise for personnel suggests a strong, resident-focused caregiving culture and responsive management.

Care quality and day-to-day support emerge as a clear strength. Caregivers are described as friendly and kind, and reviewers mention that staff have been actively helping residents who experience challenges settling in. That hands-on, accommodating approach appears to mitigate early difficulties for some people, and contributes to positive outcomes for those who persevere through the initial transition. The administration also receives favorable mention, indicating effective leadership and organization behind the day-to-day care.

Facilities and accommodations present a mixed picture. The environment is described as clean, and private rooms are available, which many families and residents will find appealing. However, reviewers also point out that some rooms share a bathroom and that the building is an older home. Those facts suggest that while Serenity Gardens is well-kept, it may have the layout and cosmetic characteristics of an older residential property rather than a newly built facility. Prospective residents should weigh the benefits of a clean, home-like atmosphere and private rooms against the potential inconvenience of shared bathrooms and less modern infrastructure.

Dining and social life are noted positively. Good food is mentioned explicitly, and reviewers report that residents socialize, indicating an active or at least congenial communal atmosphere. The combination of palatable meals and visible resident interaction supports the idea that daily life at Serenity Gardens includes meaningful social engagement and adequate dining services.

Adjustment and transition are the primary recurring concerns. Several summaries reference an initially rough or hard period of acclimation for new residents. While staff support appears to ease these issues over time, the pattern indicates that newcomers — and their families — should anticipate a settling-in period and plan for extra support during that time. The facility’s willingness to accommodate (including a possible pet policy that may accept dogs) and hands-on staff involvement are mitigating factors, but the initial difficulty is a consistent theme.

In summary, the reviews portray Serenity Gardens as a clean, welcoming community with notably compassionate and effective staff, good food, and a social resident community. The principal trade-offs are the older-house character of the building and practical matters such as shared bathrooms, plus an adjustment period that can be challenging for some residents. For families prioritizing personal attention, friendly caregivers, and a home-like environment (and possibly pet acceptance), Serenity Gardens appears to be a strong option; those who require modern facility features or guaranteed private baths should inquire further before committing.

    About Serenity Gardens

Serenity Gardens sits at 8712 N Benton Dr. in Spokane, WA 99218, right near public transit, so getting there isn't too hard, and visiting hours run daily between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, which means family and friends can come by just about any day of the week. This is a quiet adult family home with only six licensed beds, so folks living here get a lot of personal care and attention from trained staff who are always around, day or night, and it helps that the staff are known for being friendly, helpful, and joyful, with a knack for keeping the place clean and welcoming without odd smells. Meals get prepared in-house, usually nutritious home-cooked food, and there's always some activity planned to help people stay engaged, whether through devotional programs, entertainment, light exercise, or just spending time with others in a comfortable setting that doesn't feel busy or corporate.

Serenity Gardens focuses on safety, so residents who might be at risk of wandering have a Wander Guard or something similar in place, which really gives families peace of mind, especially for those with dementia or memory issues, and there's memory care available with therapies to reduce confusion. The nursing home facility provides 24-hour care for seniors needing help with medical reminders, medication management, monitoring health, or support with personal tasks like bathing and dressing; in fact, the home's good at handling many needs, including ambulatory care, diabetic care, incontinence care, high acuity care, and specialized support for people with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or dementia.

Room setups allow for privacy, since each private room has its own bathroom-some with bathtubs-and plenty of natural light, plus there are bright, spacious common areas both inside and outdoors. Resident parking is available, and the home offers rides at cost for appointments or errands, which some families find useful. Folks can make use of a beautician service right on site, too, so staying fresh isn't ever a big bother, and housekeeping helps keep things tidy. The place tries to make everyone feel at home, no matter their background, offering community events and support for people from multi-ethnic and BIPOC backgrounds.

Serenity Gardens follows state and local licensing from authorities like the Department of Aging, and is a licensed Adult Family Home-a setting sometimes known as an Adult Foster Home or Personal Care Home. While it doesn't accept Medicare unless certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the community focuses on providing a steady, safe, and kind place for seniors who need assisted living, memory care, or just a calm retirement environment. Life here feels cozy and close-knit, with small-group meals, opportunities for companionship, and staff who help design exercise or activity programs tailored to each person, and the aim is to keep residents as independent and healthy as possible. The house is quiet, less crowded than bigger facilities, with a focus on making residents comfortable, assisting with daily needs, and trying to make sure everyone feels like they belong. There are scheduled tours for anyone wanting to see how the home operates, and the team works to create a nurturing, friendly culture where well-being and a sense of community are front and center.
