    Compassionate staff creates homelike atmosphere

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, professional team-Executive Director Aleshia Salter, Denise (activities), Amy Stafford, Doreen, Joanne and the nursing, kitchen, front-desk and maintenance staff all go above and beyond to create a home-like, family atmosphere with nutritious, varied meals and lively, original activities. My loved one is safe, engaged and thriving and I have real peace of mind, though there's always room for small improvements.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews portray Wedgewood Park Senior Living as a community with many strengths alongside notable operational inconsistencies. Many families and residents highlight a caring, family-like culture driven by engaged staff and visible leadership. At the same time, a subset of concerns centers on clinical protocol consistency, communication, and service reliability; these issues are significant because they affect safety perceptions and family trust.

Care and staff: Numerous reviewers emphasize compassionate, attentive caregivers and supportive nursing presence. Specific staff members and leadership are frequently named and praised for empathy, patience, and making residents feel at home. Conversely, reviews also indicate variability in staff conduct and adherence to protocols; some accounts describe delayed responses, inconsistent supervision during personal-care tasks, and questions about medication- and glucose-related practices. There are also isolated allegations of serious protocol failures; while these appear to be individual incidents, they point to a need for clear clinical policies, staff training, and robust incident-response procedures.

Dining and nutrition: Dining receives mixed but generally positive feedback. Many families describe nutritious, varied meals with alternatives, themed dining events, and accommodating kitchen staff. At the same time, several reviewers note inconsistent dietary management for residents with specialized needs (notably diabetes) and concerns about snack appropriateness. Prospective families should confirm how the facility handles therapeutic diets and glucose monitoring, and review menu cycles and snack policies for condition-specific care.

Activities and community life: Activity programming is a clear strength. Reviewers cite creative, recurring programs (music groups, themed weeks, holiday and costume events), spontaneous social interaction, and staff-organized outings that contribute to a vibrant, engaged resident population. This programming is repeatedly described as a contributor to residents’ quality of life and social engagement.

Facilities and support services: The property, maintenance, and housekeeping receive positive remarks for being well maintained and responsive; maintenance requests and common-area upkeep are often described favorably. However, some reviewers reported delays or inconsistencies in laundry and linen service, indicating variability in day-to-day operational reliability.

Management, communication, and value: Management receives mixed evaluations. Several reviewers praise visible, compassionate leadership and proactive support during transitions; others describe instances of unresponsiveness around billing, refund requests, and family communications after incidents. Communication tone and front-desk professionalism were also called out as inconsistent. Cost is another recurring theme: some families feel the pricing is justified by staff and programming, while others view the monthly charge as high relative to perceived value, particularly when operational lapses occur.

Overall impression and recommendations: Wedgewood Park shows many hallmarks of a warm, active senior community with strong programming and many dedicated employees. However, the pattern of intermittent clinical and operational inconsistencies warrants attention. Prospective residents and families should tour the community, meet clinical leadership, and ask specific questions about medication and glucose protocols, special-diet management, staffing patterns across shifts, incident-response procedures, laundry service standards, and contract/refund policies. Doing so will help balance the facility’s evident strengths against the operational risks noted in reviews.

    About Wedgewood Park Senior Living

Wedgewood Park Senior Living provides a variety of living and care options for older adults, folks looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services all find a place here, and the community's built around comfort, safety, and helpful support. The assisted living apartments at Wedgewood Plaza have designs that make life easier for seniors, whether someone wants a studio, a one-bedroom, or a two-bedroom, some apartments even have garages attached as well as kitchens, refrigerators, washers and dryers, plus cable television. There are pet-friendly policies in place, so residents can keep their animals with them, which helps people feel more at home. Safety gets a lot of attention throughout the building, especially in the memory care area, where secure features and specialized programs support seniors dealing with Alzheimer's or other memory conditions, and you can find around-the-clock support with medical monitoring like vital signs and medication management, including hearing aid clinics.

Wedgewood Park offers a choice of meal services with food made by chefs and meal planners who focus on nutrition and good taste, and there's a community dining room for sharing meals or special diets like low sodium and low fat if needed. Residents get housekeeping, linen and laundry help, and transportation for appointments, errands, or social activities, making it easier to stay active. Wedgewood Park's staff has a reputation for being kind and helpful, and people who live here or visit say the place has a friendly and welcoming feeling. The community organizes regular activities, including game nights, exercise classes, educational programs, and trips out of the building, keeping life interesting for people who like staying busy. There's parking for residents and visitors, outdoor walking paths, gardens, patios, salon and barber services, and a variety of social events to enjoy, and the culture supports staying as independent as possible while help is always nearby when needed. Daily support services cover things like help with bathing, dressing, taking medicine, and meal preparations, plus respite care for short-term stays if a caregiver needs some relief.

Wedgewood Park is licensed by the state, with 95 beds available and services provided through Evergreen Healthcare Group, and the place is owned by Couve Healthcare Consulting LLC. Wedgewood Park operates as a continuing care retirement community, which means people can age there-moving between different care levels if their needs change, and this allows people to stay in familiar surroundings instead of moving to a completely new place. Residents benefit from specialized memory programs, medication administration, special diets, clinics, and amenities that make life easier, and the community's won awards like Best of Senior Living for its quality and the satisfaction of residents. The environment fits folks who want independent living with less upkeep and more convenience, as well as those who need extra help on a daily basis, and the culture is about friendliness, safety, choice, and dignity.
