    Resident loves Bell Tower Place

I'm very happy I chose Bell Tower Place. Valerie Freres and the staff were incredibly helpful through a quick, easy application and expedited move-in, maintenance is prompt, and my clean, spacious apartment and quiet, country-like grounds (pond, garden, chapel) feel like home. Friendly residents, catered meals, regular shopping trips and just-right activities make this a great fit for my needs - I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Residents and prospective tenants repeatedly describe Bell Tower Place Senior Apartments as an attractive, peaceful, and well-kept independent-living community with a strong sense of welcome. The property is frequently praised for its country setting — trees, grass, a pond with geese, and wooded/farm land surroundings — which reviewers describe as quiet, serene, and relaxing. The building and apartments are noted as clean, neat, and well-maintained; many reviewers called the complex "gorgeous," "beautiful," or the "nicest apartment community." Apartments are described as spacious (around 600 sq ft) and suitable for independent living.

Staff and management receive particularly high marks. Multiple reviewers singled out the manager, Valerie Freres, as knowledgeable, personable, and going above and beyond — helping with move-in paperwork, assisting through difficult personal transitions, and expediting moves. Staff are described as friendly, helpful, and easy to work with, and reviewers highlight a fast and straightforward application process and the ability to move in quickly (sometimes within two weeks). Maintenance is repeatedly described as top-notch, attentive, and timely, with reliable repairs and fast responses to work orders.

Facilities and programming are another recurring strength. The community offers several on-site amenities — a community room, chapel, library, garden seating, and a small-community feel that encourages neighborliness. A monthly printed activity calendar, resident-organized events, potlucks, and occasional live entertainment are mentioned as ways residents socialize. Transportation services (a van or bus) for shopping trips and off-site errands are appreciated and considered a practical convenience. Some reviewers also mention catered meals as part of the community offerings.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive tone, a few consistent concerns appear in the reviews. Several reviewers describe administration as "rent-focused," and note spotty communication and operational areas that need improvement. While maintenance and front-line staff are praised, some higher-level administrative responsiveness and clarity around procedures were described as inconsistent. Social offerings receive mixed comments: many reviewers say there are "just enough" activities and that the community is welcoming, while a few note "not much time to socialize" or that the small size limits social variety. The community's bed-and-breakfast atmosphere is noted, but some reviewers explicitly point out there is no full breakfast service, which may disappoint those expecting that amenity.

A notable pattern in the reviews is the community's orientation toward independent living. Reviewers consistently describe Bell Tower Place as an ideal fit for fairly independent seniors who want a quieter, intimate community with practical supports (transportation, occasional catered meals, maintenance). However, multiple mentions of residents with memory issues or comments that some individuals are "not fully self-sufficient" suggest potential mismatches for people who require higher levels of assisted living or memory-care services. Prospective residents and families should verify whether the community's level of care and staffing model match specific medical or cognitive needs.

In summary, Bell Tower Place Senior Apartments is presented as a small, well-kept, and peaceful independent-living community with exceptionally strong staff and maintenance, a personable and highly praised manager, convenient move-in processes, and a friendly neighborly atmosphere. The main caveats are administrative communication and operations that could be improved, limited or modest social programming for some tastes, absence of a B&B-style breakfast service, and potential unsuitability for residents requiring intensive memory or assisted-care services. For seniors seeking a quiet, intimate independent-living setting with responsive maintenance and compassionate staff, reviewers overwhelmingly recommend Bell Tower Place; families needing higher levels of clinical care should assess care capabilities before committing.

About Bell Tower Place Senior Apartments

Bell Tower Place Senior Apartments sits in a quiet neighborhood about 2.7 miles outside of Greendale, Wisconsin, right in Franklin, and people usually say it's clean and peaceful, with scenic views of ponds and nice outdoor spaces with benches where you can watch the birds, smell the fresh air, and wave at your neighbors, and most folks find that the staff, like Valerie Freres, are kind and helpful, so you'll see some smiles in the halls and hear friendly greetings from other residents. The place offers one- and two-bedroom apartment homes for people aged 55 and older, and every unit has a full kitchen, one to one-and-a-half bathrooms, and spacious closets, plus ground-floor apartments are easy to reach for people who need that, and you can open the windows or step out on a patio or balcony if you have one in your unit, which makes things feel more like home, and since it's non-smoking everywhere, the air stays fresh whether you're inside or outside.

Residents can choose from independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and nursing home support if they ever need extra help, and the apartments have heat, water, and municipal services all included in the rent, with each apartment set up for individual climate control, so everyone sets their own heat or air conditioning just how they like, and cats are allowed, but dogs aren't. The community is for those 55 and older, with clear age and gender policies, and there are forty apartments in total, with assigned parking, heated underground parking, free WiFi, coin-operated laundry, library, chapel, fitness center, game and activities rooms, conference space, and an on-site salon for haircuts and such several times a week, making it easy to stay busy or just relax. People often gather for morning coffee, card games, potlucks, arts and crafts, and even enjoy live entertainment or devotional activities, and the activities program makes it easy for new people to meet neighbors and make friends or join in bigger celebrations during holidays, since the staff encourages social connections and tries to keep everyone engaged, while still making it easy for people who like their quiet or want to keep their independence.

Bell Tower Place reviews show high marks with an average 9 out of 10 rating and an A for the facility and grounds, so the community's considered the highest rated in Franklin, and folks say the grounds and building are well-maintained and attractive, with everything kept clean, and maintenance is on-call 24 hours a day to handle repairs. The apartments have kitchens with full appliances, window coverings, and most have decks or patios, plus safety features like emergency call systems, mail delivered inside the building, and secure, controlled access at the entrance. There's wheelchair accessible units and a van service is available for trips out to shop, do errands, or get to appointments, and the staff can help with medication management or extra personal care if you need it, and dining services are available, with catered meals and a dining room right on-site.

The community also takes long-term care insurance, allows residents to use personal care assistants, and helps with initial consultations, provides tours, and goes over move-in and billing policies, keeping things clear and simple. If you need resident parking, want a smoke-free place, prefer connecting with others but don't want to lose your independence, or simply want to settle down in a friendly, safe neighborhood with regular activities and peaceful surroundings, Bell Tower Place Senior Apartments offers an option where it's easy to feel at home and live comfortably in retirement.
