    Clean homey community, friendly staff

I toured this small, well-maintained community and was impressed by the clean, homey rooms, pretty grounds, and good food. Staff were friendly, attentive and communicative-special thanks to Jackie and Wendy-so the move-in was smooth and I feel comfortable recommending it to families.

    Summary of reviews

High Point Residence Germantown North presents as a small, well-kept assisted living community with a home-like atmosphere and several evident strengths. Families commonly note a clean facility, comfortable and reasonably sized rooms with large bathrooms, attractive grounds, and a peaceful location. The community's size (approximately 25 beds) contributes to an intimate, family-style environment that many residents and relatives found welcoming. Several reviewers praised the admission process and transition support, describing it as smooth and accommodating.

Staffing and caregiving are frequently described in positive terms: compassionate caregivers, warm attitudes, and strong hospice coordination for end-of-life needs were singled out repeatedly. First-shift staff and the manager receive particularly consistent praise for attentiveness and communication. Dining also receives favorable comments — meals are generally described as varied and acceptable — and staff-led activities and resident-centered programming (including recreational and memory-support items) contribute to a sense of community for ambulatory residents.

However, a pattern of operational weaknesses emerges across reviews. There is notable variability in staffing quality and responsiveness across different shifts, which families linked to delays in basic-assistance tasks, hydration and toileting support, and occasional missed clinical issues. A few reviewers described serious clinical consequences that they associated with these gaps, including hospital visits and infection concerns; these reports point to potential shortfalls in clinical monitoring, medication oversight, and transfer/fall-detection practices. Management responsiveness to concerns about individual staff members was described as inconsistent, with at least one account of defensive responses from leadership when staff performance was questioned.

Activities programming and social engagement appear to be strengths for ambulatory, cognitively intact residents but are less well suited to those who are non-ambulatory or have advanced cognitive impairment. Several families explicitly said the community felt geared toward residents who can participate in group activities and ambulate independently. For prospective residents who require higher-acuity care or constant supervision, reviewers recommended careful consideration and, in some cases, 24/7 supervision arrangements elsewhere.

In summary, High Point Residence Germantown North may be a good fit for individuals seeking a small, clean, and home-like assisted living environment with strong hospice integration and attentive first-shift staff. Prospective residents and families should, however, assess staffing continuity across all shifts, clarify clinical-monitoring and medication-management protocols, and evaluate whether activity offerings and care capacity align with higher-acuity or non-ambulatory needs. Asking for specific staffing patterns, incident-response procedures, and examples of recent clinical oversight practices during a tour or meeting with management may help families determine fit and mitigate the variability noted in several accounts.

About High Point Residence Germantown North

High Point Residence Germantown North Assisted Living in Wisconsin offers several types of care including assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living for adults aged 55 and over, and the place goes by its full name to help folks remember which community it is, so you hear terms like High Point Residence Germantown North Assisted Living used a lot around here, and the community keeps things small and home-like with a family-style atmosphere, which is easy for residents who prefer neighborly, familiar settings over big facilities. The staff-to-resident ratio is high, so residents get a good deal of attention from people they get to know, and the care team focuses on physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, with a strong connection to Christian values in their daily routines.

They handle everyday needs like meals, laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance, including all the basics like water, electricity, trash, and cable, and there's in-house laundry and dry cleaning, as well as regular linen service, which makes it easy for residents to have clean clothing and bedding without much hassle. The rooms come fully furnished, and residents can choose private suites, studios, or one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with kitchenettes or full kitchens, large bathrooms with roll-in showers, and plenty of assistive features to make sure folks with mobility concerns stay safe, and for those who need help, the staff can provide support with bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication management as well as emergency response management throughout the day and night.

Memory care services are a big part of what they do, especially for seniors with Alzheimer's, dementia, or mild cognitive impairment, and they use a secure environment and special programs to help maintain memory skills, using activities, social events, and group exercises, so families feel comfortable knowing loved ones have support. On top of memory care, High Point Residence Germantown North offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation, wound care, and works alongside doctors and healthcare providers, with lab, radiology, therapy, and pharmacy services available right on-site, so residents don't always need to leave the community for medical appointments.

The place has common areas, outdoor patios, walking and garden spaces, a recreation room, a beauty and spa salon for hair and grooming, private family dining and lounges for gatherings, and shared community dining where guests are welcome to join at meals. Seniors can take part in regular art, crafts, and music activities, join community-sponsored events, and use high-speed WiFi and cable in-room for their own enjoyment, with apartments designed to support both privacy and comfort, and the community even has pet-friendly rules for certain pets, if residents have a companion animal they'd like to bring along. There's transportation for doctor appointments and outings, and services like personal laundry, appointment coordination, and even a podiatrist who comes for foot care visits.

Residents get to keep up a good level of independence, but help's always there when it's needed, and it's easy for new residents to move in since staff help plan personalized care and coordinate each step. Pricing stays all-inclusive, so there are fewer surprises about bills, and residents know everything's covered, from meals and utilities to activities and care. The focus stays on safety, independence, and well-being, with a staff that's present 24 hours, and a setup made for seniors who want a little extra help without giving up the comforts of home or the chance to take part in community life.
