    Spotless compassionate home-style memory care

I placed my mom in this small, home-like memory care and have been very happy with the experience - spotless, well-maintained rooms; delicious homemade meals; and a warm, attentive staff who treat residents like family. Activities, outdoor spaces and communication with the director made visits easy and comforting. Overall a very good fit for families seeking compassionate, personalized care; a couple small tweaks would make it outstanding.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews portray Our House Senior Living - New Richmond Memory Care as a small, home-like memory-care community with consistently positive family impressions of staff and daily life. Families frequently describe caregivers as compassionate, attentive, and respectful; reviewers emphasize personalized attention, 24/7 availability, and a welcoming, family-oriented culture. The facility’s size is repeatedly framed as an advantage for individualized care and closer staff–resident relationships.

Care quality and staffing are central strengths in the reviews. Many families noted prompt, friendly assistance at arrival and regular, person-focused care interactions. Staff demeanor is described as warm and patient, with leadership accessible for communication. That said, a pattern of operational constraints appears: several reviewers indicated occasional staffing shortages or variability in responsiveness, and a small number of comments pointed to inconsistencies in the timeliness or thoroughness of certain personal-care tasks. Those concerns were often described as being addressed when raised, but they suggest prospective families should confirm current staffing levels and care-response protocols during a visit.

Dining and food service receive strong praise. Meals are characterized as homemade, nutritious, and appealing in aroma and taste; reviewers reported flexible dining options and the ability to personalize meals. Special events such as birthday celebrations, spa days, and snack-time movie offerings were highlighted as enhancing quality of life.

Programming emphasizes memory-supportive activities with a mix of arts, crafts, music (singing, guitar, piano), group projects, and social events. Many families reported active engagement opportunities and described residents as busy and content. A recurring note, however, is that some activities can be passive (for example, television-based options) or limited in interactivity; reviewers suggested occasional desire for more varied or consistently interactive programming, which may be influenced by staffing and the facility’s smaller scale.

Facilities and environment are consistently described as clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Private apartments and communal spaces with features such as a fireplace and piano contribute to a homelike feel; outdoor seating and secure grounds were also noted. Reviewers indicated satisfaction with sanitation and upkeep, and a number of families said end-of-life care met their expectations.

Management and family communication receive positive mentions for accessibility and responsiveness. Reviewers commonly recommend the community and express confidence in the director and care team. For prospective residents and families, the notable patterns are strong relational care, appealing dining, and an intimate setting balanced against occasional staffing variability and program limitations tied to size. During a tour, it is advisable to inquire specifically about current staffing ratios, activity schedules, and approaches to personal-care consistency to ensure the community’s operational state matches your expectations.
