    Hands-on compassionate care, homelike facility

I'm very pleased with the care my dad received at this small 8-bed home. The hands-on, personable staff and strong director gave individual 1:1 attention, learned what works for him, communicated well, and were genuinely compassionate (they worked smoothly with hospice). The facility is spotless, homelike and conveniently located, with good food, activities, private rooms and a calm setting - I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Lynnwood of Delafield receives consistent praise for hands-on, personalized caregiving tied to its small, eight-bed scale. Many families described caregiving staff as friendly, compassionate, and willing to learn individual resident preferences; reviewers emphasized frequent one-to-one attention, cooperative hospice integration for end-of-life care, and an involved director. Cleanliness and a homelike atmosphere are recurring positives—rooms and common areas are described as well maintained, scent-free, and freshly painted in some cases.

Dining and daily life are generally highlighted as strengths. Several reviewers noted good meals and a variety of activities supported by a dedicated activity room and common areas such as a large kitchen and roomy hallways with handrails. The setting is residential and tranquil, with pleasant surroundings that families found convenient for visits and comforting for residents who prefer a small, community-style environment.

Facility limitations and administrative concerns emerge as the principal negatives. The small scale that enables individualized care also limits onsite amenities and scalability for residents whose needs increase; some families anticipated that higher-acuity care would require a future move. Practical accessibility issues—most notably constrained parking and limited visitor-access features—were mentioned. More substantively, a pattern of inconsistent administrative communication and unclear billing or refund practices is evident: reviewers described difficulties obtaining timely information and clarity about payment handling. There are also serious, singular claims concerning missing funds and property; these appear as allegations of theft and improper handling of resident funds or belongings and would warrant direct verification during a tour and intake discussions.

A mixed picture of management tone and conflict handling is another theme. While many families praised strong leadership and compassionate caregivers, other accounts described confrontational or unprofessional interactions with administrative staff, including disputes over financial matters and eviction threats in isolated cases. Visitation practices also varied in their flexibility, particularly for residents with cognitive impairment, which some families perceived as restrictive.

Overall, Lynnwood of Delafield appears to offer high-touch, comfortable care in a clean, small residential setting—an appealing option for families seeking individualized attention and a homelike environment. Prospective residents and families should balance those strengths against the facility's limited scale and the administrative and financial-communication issues noted by reviewers. During a visit, verify billing and refund policies, clarify visitor and admission procedures (including hospice and end-of-life coordination), inspect accessibility and parking, and ask for written examples of how the facility protects resident funds and personal property.

    About Lynnwood of Delafield

Lynnwood of Delafield is a community-based residential facility that offers assisted living and memory care services for seniors, and while there isn't a lot of public information out there, it's plain that people living here can get help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, meals, and transfers for those who use wheelchairs or have trouble moving around, and there's support for residents with diabetes, incontinence, and even those with significant memory issues, including Alzheimer's and dementia, where the staff tries to keep things calm and safe for anyone with difficult behaviors or confusion, and you'll find nurses on staff along with access to healthcare providers and podiatry, plus the place lets residents stay as their needs change so people don't have to move as their care needs increase, and it's also a pet-friendly place so people can bring their animals. Residents get meals served in a dining room, but there are choices all day and special diets are accommodated, and they'll also help with laundry, housekeeping, dry cleaning, and coordinating moves when someone comes in, and you'll see comfortable furnished rooms, emergency alert systems, indoor common areas for gathering, as well as walking paths and a garden for fresh air. Social, recreational, and educational activities run every day, like movie nights and group events, and devotional services offsite let people keep up with spiritual needs. Complimentary transportation helps residents get to appointments and outings, and parking is available for those who need it. Lynnwood of Delafield also offers respite stays and hospice care, and the staff handles things like medicine management and coordinates with families and doctors, and they're equipped to use mechanical lifts for anyone needing help from bed to wheelchair. The community keeps things homelike and tries to support aging in place so residents can remain even as their health changes, and while much about the place isn't widely advertised, what's clear is that Lynnwood of Delafield covers the basic needs for seniors looking for support, activities, and a safe place to live with options for care as they get older.
