Lovely Care Manor sat in Clearwater, Florida, at 2869 Sarah Drive, and offered several types of care for seniors, including independent living, assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia, and skilled nursing support, and while it was active, people could choose from private or semi-private rooms, each with private baths in a small, home-like setting where residents could keep pets like dogs and cats if they stayed within the weight limit of fifty pounds, and the staff spoke multiple languages such as French, Vietnamese, and American Sign Language, which sometimes helped families feel more welcome and understood. The community had a quiet, friendly style and a family-run atmosphere, and folks there enjoyed social activities both on and off site, including things like devotional gatherings and group events to help seniors keep hobbies or learn new ones, in spaces that included indoor and outdoor common areas, and there was always the chance to relax in a living room together or out in an enclosed garden area, and residents could decorate their own rooms to feel more at home.
Many different health needs were covered, like diabetic care, high acuity care, incontinence support, ambulatory and non-ambulatory assistance, wound care, and medication management, and there was round-the-clock supervision in memory care sections which had secure doors and systems like Wander Guard to help residents stay safe, especially those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Meals came prepared with kosher and vegetarian choices, with one or two meals served each day, along with laundry and housekeeping services, and there was a beautician who made regular visits. Transportation was provided as a complimentary service, and parking was available for those residents who still drove or had visits from family. Veterans found options meant for them within the community too, and respite care was offered for families who needed short-term stays for their loved ones.
The place welcomed people over 55 who wanted less worry about chores, and the independent living apartments and homes gave them spaces where they could enjoy their own schedules, join in social activities, and still count on support if needed, and in assisted living, staff helped with daily needs like bathing, cooking, dressing, and laundry, with attention to each person's individual routine. Special memory-enhancing programs ran for those with cognitive impairments, and there were both on-site and off-site activities designed to keep minds active and spirits lifted. Residents could smoke outdoors in set areas, have devotional activities if they wanted, and bring their pets along as long as they followed the rules.
Lovely Care Manor filed annual reports until 2016 and was classified as administratively dissolved in 2017, so it's no longer an active community, but during its years of operation, it gave seniors and families a choice of care and a quiet, respectful environment, where love, respect, and kindness formed the heart of everyday living.
