    Very satisfied, occasional operational hiccups

My first impression was negative-the ambience initially felt unappealing-but I've lived here seven years and am generally very satisfied. The place is very clean, quiet and safe with caring, friendly staff who often go the extra mile, lots of activities (outings, movies, bingo), good food and an on-site restaurant, and lovely gardens. I did have one incident where an attendant refused to hold my medication and was defensive (I reported it), and recent director turnover and many changes have created an unsettled feel. It can be farther from family and a bit light on amenities for the price (laundry/fees, trash moved outside). Overall I'm happy, would recommend it, but be aware of occasional operational issues.

    About Legacy Hills at Poway

Legacy Hills at Poway sits at the base of Twin Peaks Mountain, where older adults can pick from studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and vaulted ceilings, and some units have hardwood floors, dishwashers, patios or balconies, plus accessible features for those who need them, and this whole place feels homey and comfortable if you're looking for a spot that isn't fussy but has what most folks need for an easy, active retirement. Folks here get independent living with amenities like on-site restaurant dining, on-site laundry, cable TV, and plenty of appliances, and there's on-site maintenance and parking, so you don't have to sweat the small stuff, and if you want to bring a dog or a cat, that's fine, as the community welcomes pets and lets you walk them or just sit with a friend out in the landscaped courtyards or patios that really are nice, especially on a sunny day. There are group life enrichment programs for residents who want to stay social or take up a hobby, and there's a business center, a clubhouse, a gym, and common rooms for all kinds of activities, so nobody really has to feel isolated or bored, and if you want to head out to shop, eat, or go to a doctor's appointment, there's scheduled transportation to make things easier. Monthly rental prices start at $1,865 and go up to $2,010 for studio or one-bedroom units, and the big thing here is the 24-hour emergency response system, which helps folks feel safe at all hours, and for those who need a little extra help, there are care options up to assisted living and even memory care services with care plans tailored to the individual, plus safety features for those with cognitive needs, so people can stay as independent or supported as they need to be as time goes on.
