    Felt at home, highly recommended

I toured this independent-living community and felt at home. The staff were friendly, accommodating and very responsive - the tour was excellent. My small one-bedroom was nicely laid out with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, appliances, cable/Wi-Fi, garage/carport options and good views. The building is secure and very clean, with lots of amenities and activities (pool, movie room, crafts/card rooms, bar/pub, garden, church services, outings and nightly activities). There's no care, meals, or housekeeping included and it's on the pricey side, but I think it's worth it and would recommend it.

    Summary review

The reviews for Affinity at Billings are strongly favorable and consistently emphasize a high-quality independent living experience. Most reviewers praised the staff repeatedly — describing them as friendly, courteous, customer-oriented, responsive and knowledgeable. Tour experiences were singled out as excellent, with guides who were patient and informative. Overall cleanliness and upkeep of the property are frequently noted, contributing to impressions of a well-run community.

Apartment features and included utilities are another recurring positive theme. Units are described as spacious and well laid out, often with good views, full kitchens, freestanding counters/bars, washers/dryers, and standard appliances. Cable and Wi‑Fi are included, and reviewers appreciated that many costs and amenities are incorporated into the rent. Parking options such as carports and garages were mentioned as convenient additions.

Amenities and community spaces receive consistent praise. The facility offers a variety of dedicated rooms — movie room, crafts room, card room, bar/pub — plus a swimming pool and garden area. Reviewers highlighted large open gathering spaces and an active social calendar, with activities most nights, organized outings, craft opportunities, and Sunday church services. There are also resident musical groups and a generally social, friendly resident population; several reviewers said they felt at home and would recommend the community.

On the service side, respondents repeatedly noted that Affinity at Billings is an independent living community. That distinction has implications: there is no meal program or housekeeping service provided as part of standard offerings. A mobile canteen is present on-site for much of the day, which may partially address food needs, but several reviews specifically stated there is no formal food service. Additionally, the community does not provide assisted living or personal care — an important limitation for prospective residents who expect or require those services.

Cost is a notable concern for some reviewers. Several comments describe the community as expensive; however, many of those same reviewers judged it to be worth the price given the quality of the facility, staff, and amenities. Unit size also emerged as a minor downside in a few summaries — some one-bedroom apartments were described as small — and a few people noted that apartment-style living simply isn’t a good fit for them personally.

In summary, Affinity at Billings appears to offer a clean, safe, and socially active independent living environment with strong staff engagement, a broad range of amenities, and apartments that include many conveniences. The chief trade-offs are the lack of included meals and housekeeping, the absence of care services for residents needing assistance, and a price point that some consider high. For older adults seeking an independent, amenity-rich community with an active social life and reliable staff, reviewers largely recommend Affinity at Billings; those needing assisted care, dining services, or larger one‑bedroom layouts should weigh these limitations before choosing the community.

    About Affinity at Billings

Affinity at Billings sits in the West End of Billings near the Shiloh Conservation Area, giving people a chance to enjoy walking trails and nearby shopping, dining, or even a casino if they want, and the place is built for people 55 and older who want hassle-free, independent living without any buy-in or long-term contract, which means residents pay one rent that covers utilities, Wi-Fi, cable, and full use of the community's many amenities-the kind of things that include a fitness center, heated saltwater pool, sauna, crafts studio, movie theater, billiards room, game room, internet café, BBQ area, card room, and even Dilly Dally's Pub. The apartments have practical features, using carpet, hardwood, or laminate floors, and they offer home features like decks, gardens, lawns, fireplaces, and washers, dryers, dishwashers, disposals, microwaves, and refrigerators, so daily tasks are pretty easy, and there are options like a detached garage, extra storage, and workshop rooms for folks who need them. Big community spaces and an on-site social calendar give people regular events and activities, and the setup encourages a resident-driven, friendly vibe since everyone lives around others their own age. Pets are welcome, the dog park makes it simple for owners and pets alike, and safety's considered with things like elevators, disabled access, senior-friendly bathrooms, and staff ready to help when needed. People who like to socialize find things to do, while private living keeps things peaceful when wanted, and maintenance is part of the deal, as is reasonable building security. Affinity at Billings also offers support for those who need more help, with services covering home care, skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or other dementias, using design and routines that help keep residents comfortable and prevent wandering or confusion. The campus has about 30,000 square feet of shared spaces with modern and classic touches, giving plenty of room to join in a crafts class, watch a movie, swim in the indoor pool, or relax in the spa or hot tub. Residents get an active retirement lifestyle, a safe, approachable environment, and choices about how involved they want to be, and the all-inclusive approach removes hidden bills or surprises, keeping life simple for those who live there.
