Meals get made fresh every day with a chef on staff, three main dishes daily, and there's always the option for special diets, diabetes-friendly food, or adjustments for allergies, and people can dine whenever suits them in the community dining room or have a meal prepped in the smaller kitchen areas if they like cooking their own food. The building has a real lived-in feel, with rooms fully furnished, some even having kitchenettes and private bathrooms, plus there's air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and phones, along with cable TV for anyone wanting it, and housekeeping and linen services come standard.
Residents have access to many activities, like daily exercises, music groups, movie nights, arts and crafts, animal visits, and special events such as the Idylwood Olympics that brings everyone together, including staff, to compete and socialize. There's also a reading room, game areas, and a small library, along with outdoor spaces like walking paths, patios, and gardens-some raised for easier wheelchair access-where people can garden, rest, or join group horticulture or cooking classes supported by therapists.
