    About Healthsource Saginaw

HealthSource Saginaw has been in Saginaw for over 90 years and offers a wide range of healthcare services for people who need short-term or long-term care. The facility provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, medical, behavioral health, and chemical dependency support all in one place, so families don't have to move their loved ones around to different places. You'll find a Medical Rehabilitation Center with advanced therapy equipment and big therapy gyms, and therapists use things like NESS® H200™ and NESS® L300™ for hand and foot movement, Saebo Arm Training, and VitalStim for swallowing problems. Nurses and therapists work together day and night, and there's always a doctor involved in care. Residents can recover after surgery, illness, or an accident in private rooms with bathrooms, and there's even a special training apartment so patients can practice living skills before going home, which helps families know they'll manage on their own. There's a focus on helping people set their own health goals, and social workers, dieticians, recreation staff, and psychologists all work as a team to support each resident's needs.

For people who need long-term care, there are neighborhoods called Great Lakes, Garden, Patriot, and Wheels, with private living quarters and a secure area for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Dental care is available with an on-site dentist, and there's an on-site pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, wound care, laundry, and beauty salon. Residents can eat in a fine dining setting and see scheduled entertainment, and there's a Main Street area with a 50s-themed soda shop, gift shop, chapel, bistro, theater, and therapy gym. The Resident Council meets every month, and there are weekly worship services and a chapel. HealthSource Saginaw also supports mental health with a large Behavioral Medicine Center that treats children, adults, and seniors, and there's a secure psychiatric unit for crisis care and ongoing treatment, including for chemical dependency and dual diagnosis. The Pathways Chemical Dependency Center offers detox care, medication, counseling in groups and one-on-one, and aftercare planning, with focus on individual goals and stability.

Older adults can get full psycho-social assessments to help understand health needs, and therapists offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy with specialized programs for stroke, head injury, spinal cord injuries, and chronic health problems. Outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation is available, along with aquatic therapy and community re-entry programs that help people get back to daily life. Staff use evidence-based practice and modern equipment to help with pain, balance, strength, and mobility problems. There's social support, recreation, nutrition assessment, and volunteer involvement. HealthSource Saginaw doesn't have an emergency room but values clear care communication and makes sure care continues smoothly from admission to discharge, including background checks, health checks, and legal DNA and drug testing as needed for employment screening through their one-stop shop.

Visiting hours are organized for different age groups, and there are safety rules for what patients can bring. Billing help and outpatient appointment scheduling are available. HealthSource Saginaw serves more than one location, including Houghton Ave. in Saginaw and clinics in Mount Pleasant. They work with CMU Medical Education Partners, provide primary and specialty care, and focus on both recovery and quality of life in a safe, home-like environment.
