Valley View Estates Health & Rehabilitation in Hamilton, MT, which closed on March 31, 2022, had been around since 1982 and was known as a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center with more than 50 beds, mainly serving older adults who needed daily help or certain health care. The facility had assisted living, nursing, and memory care programs for people who couldn't live alone because they needed help with things like bathing, dressing, eating, taking medicine, or managing daily routines, and the staff included licensed nurses, caregivers, and therapists who worked together to follow different individualized care plans, whether a resident was there for the long-term or for short-term rehabilitation. Rooms came with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, phones, and air conditioning, and the common areas offered Wi-Fi, emergency alert systems, and regular housekeeping. Residents could join group activities like movie nights, arts and crafts, music, and trips outdoors, or use walking paths, gardens, and the fitness room, with plenty of opportunities for social engagement and mental stimulation, especially for folks with memory issues like Alzheimer's or dementia, who received supervision and a secure environment. The dining program included meals made by a chef with attention to allergies and health conditions like diabetes, served in a restaurant-style setting. Valley View Estates also took Medicaid and Medicare, offered transportation, parking, and had a daily call system for emergencies. Staff provided medication management, help with moving, and support as needed, and the facility passed regular health inspections. When the closure was finalized, there were about 30 residents. The owner, the Goodman Group, gave staff job opportunities at Discovery and let residents move to Discovery Care Centre if they wanted. The Valley View building is being considered for future use but is permanently closed as of now.
