    Warm professional staff, clean facility

I stayed here while my mom recovered and I'm very satisfied. The staff are warm, professional and attentive - nurses, therapists and social workers got therapy started promptly, the dietician listened to preferences, and administration (Janet) kept me in the loop; Anthony at security stood out. The facility is clean, bright and home-like with varied activities, on-site salon, river views and easy video calls - I'd recommend it.

About Cliffside Rehab & Residential Health Care Center

Cliffside Rehab & Residential Health Care Center sits on Graham Court in Flushing, Queens, right in New York and it's a skilled nursing facility that offers both short-term rehab and long-term residential health care, along with a secure memory care unit where people with dementia get extra support. The center has a B-minus historical rating, though most inspection reports are A+ and the overall ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently reached five stars, so the place usually meets or beats expected standards. The place takes both Medicare and Medicaid, works as a for-profit, and links up with the CFW Group of health care facilities, so it's connected to established networks, and you can find both resident and family councils for people who want to have a say in things. There's no CCRC service here, but you get hospice and respite care, and inpatient rehab for recovery from hospital stays, and there are plenty of specialized services like speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy, wound and stroke care, IV antibiotic therapy, respiratory and ventilator care with trained staff, hemodialysis, tracheotomy care, and total parenteral nutrition for those who need extra nutrition.

What stands out for some is the strong focus on activities and recreation, as volunteers help residents get to games, crafts, computer time, and reading, and there's special need for volunteers who speak Chinese or Spanish since there's a whole Asian cultural unit where people can connect in their own language and traditions, which helps with healing and comfort. Volunteers do need to show proof of a flu shot and PPD test, and they can't give food or drinks to residents during visits, but slots run weekdays, Monday nights, Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons with bingo events being popular. The place is for skilled nursing, so it covers a lot: short-term rehab for people getting back on their feet, long-term care for a homey setting, ventilator and respiratory care with round-the-clock support, and onsite dialysis for people with kidney problems. The place is known for having registered staff with clear hours, pharmacy and nutritional counseling, mental health help, and ongoing recreational therapy, and it goes heavy on documentation and safety as shown in the regular A+ inspection reports. The building doesn't do luxury, but it covers the basics and gives care for those who need a mix of medical and day-to-day help, and families have a voice alongside their loved ones.
