    Excellent care and outstanding staff

I'm very satisfied with the care my dad received at Cameron Nursing Center. Staff across departments were outstanding-attentive nurses and doctors, an amazing therapy team, high-quality meals (kudos to the culinary director), spotless housekeeping, engaging activities, quick responses and clear medical updates; I highly recommend them.

About Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Cameron Nursing And Rehabilitation Center sits out on Route 4, Box 20, Cameron, WV 26033, and folks will find it's a place mainly for seniors who need nursing, rehab, or special care, and it helps people understand things like Medicaid, Medicare, and what it takes to qualify for different coverage, along with all the ins and outs of choosing the right nursing home or senior care community, with cost comparisons and information about assisted living, so families can figure out what makes sense for their situation. The place does take Medicaid and Medicare, and there are both long-term and short-term care options, including respite care when folks need a break, and they offer skilled nursing, daily activities, therapy like speech, occupational, and physical, and tailored memory care for Alzheimer's needs, plus rehab for folks who need to bounce back after something like surgery or illness. You'll find activities every day, an on-site library, a movie room, music programs, community-sponsored events, and areas outside for walking or sitting, gardens, and even pet-friendly spots, which a lot of people appreciate. The rooms can be studios or shared, sometimes two bedrooms, with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, phones, and high-speed internet ready, plus furniture already in place, so moving in's not a heavy lift, and there's Wi-Fi all around. They help with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, and getting around, they keep a close watch 24 hours with staff, supervision, and call systems in case something goes wrong, and there's an emergency alert system too, plus you can get medication management and help with moving from bed to chair if that's needed, so folks who aren't very mobile can still get care. Meals are made by a professional chef, with options all day in a dining room where you can get food that works for diabetes or allergies, laundry and housekeeping happen regularly, even dry cleaning, and transportation or parking get handled when needed, with plenty of support for family visits or outings. The staff is a group of licensed nurses, medical staff, nursing assistants, physical therapists, and the center offers home making, pharmacy services, nutritional counseling, and recreational therapy for all kinds of needs, while there's always help available for finding the right care or figuring out class requirements if someone wants to work or train here. There are employment options, caregiver pay details, training courses, and CNA school information, including certifications and practice tests, plus state-by-state guidance if someone's new to caregiving. Cameron Nursing And Rehabilitation Center gets a 3-star rating from Medicare & Medicaid Services, has grades around B overall, and inspection grades run from A- to A+ in the past, so it's better than average and people can find data about how many nurse and therapy hours happen each year. While there's no Resident or Family Council, there is counseling, fitness programs, and support for special nutrition. Security is tight with a 24-hour call system to prevent anyone, especially folks with memory care needs, from wandering or going missing. They do lots to help seniors have some independence but stay safe, offering engagement and activities for all needs, and amenities like a business room, game room, spa, and fitness area, where residents can do as much or as little as they feel up to, when they feel like it. The center stays up to date with regular inspections and has all the safety checks in place, so anyone wanting more information can find out about the specific amenities and services that fit personal needs or family preferences, and the community does offer tours for anyone wanting to see it for themselves before making a choice.
