    Compassionate, attentive care; excellent facility

I was very pleased with how they cared for my mother - compassionate, attentive nurses and aides who went out of their way, and staff with a heart of gold. The facility is clean, administration is top-notch, meals (the Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic) are excellent, and with building improvements underway I would highly recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed picture: many families highlight compassionate, individualized attention from specific nurses and aides and describe well-handled hospice transitions and meaningful family-oriented moments. At the same time, recurring operational issues indicate uneven care quality across shifts and units.

Care quality shows notable variation. Positive accounts describe attentive bedside care and strong end-of-life support. However, numerous comments identify delayed responses to resident needs (including delays in personal-care tasks and turning), inconsistent wound and nutrition documentation, and concerns about medication oversight. These clinical gaps have, in several accounts, led to hospital transfers or required hospice initiation. Prospective families should assess how the facility documents and monitors nutrition, wound care, fall risk, and medication administration before placement.

Staffing and culture are polarized in the reviews. Many reviewers praise individual staff members for kindness and going beyond routine duties; those caregivers are often credited with providing emotional comfort and organizing engaging events. Conversely, a frequent theme is chronic understaffing and overworked CNAs, producing long response times, limited assistance with meals and hygiene, and variability in staff attitudes and communication tone. There are also references to concerns about conduct and cultural sensitivity that families may wish to clarify during visits.

Dining and activities are similarly mixed. Several families report positive special events and holiday meals, and some accounts describe satisfying daily meals. Other reports indicate inconsistent food quality and inadequate monitoring of intake, with weight loss and related health consequences mentioned. Activity engagement appears to be event-dependent; strong staff involvement drives the positive experiences.

Facility condition and operations show inconsistency. Some reviewers note recent improvements and clean areas, while others describe sanitation and odor concerns in parts of the building, maintenance issues (including openings around fixtures), and pest-control questions. Admissions and communication processes also received criticism: the website and online intake were described as generic or unresponsive, and phone access was frequently cited as unreliable.

Management and billing are areas of particular concern. Several families describe poor responsiveness from administration, a distant management presence, and difficulty getting timely answers. Billing problems, including incorrect charges and difficulties with insurance/benefits billing, were raised, with at least one review using strong language about financial misconduct; prospective families should request clear billing procedures and recent audit or compliance information.

Overall, the facility appears to have dedicated frontline caregivers who can provide compassionate support, but systemic weaknessesโ€”staffing shortages, inconsistent clinical documentation and oversight, communication breakdowns, facility maintenance issues, and billing concernsโ€”create variability in resident experience. Families considering this location should perform targeted due diligence: tour the units at different times of day, ask for staffing ratios, review clinical documentation and care plans, inquire about memory-care availability, clarify billing and insurance processes, and request references from recent families whose care needs match their own.
