Magnolia Wood sits at 603 Walker St and offers a quiet setting for seniors who need care, and folks over there call it the Jensen Road facility sometimes, and you'll see it's got that familiar Magnolia Wood name on everything from staff badges to the living room sign, and what stands out are the different types of care tailored to what each person needs, so some get assisted living help with meals or dressing, others get specialized memory care or disabled persons assistance, and the nurse team will give TB skin tests and manage medicines if needed. There's about 20 or so employees on hand, and they keep things running during the week from nine in the morning to six in the evening, though they shut the doors on weekends, and you'll see residents mingling in big common rooms or joining simple activities meant for conversation and movement. Amenities like help with daily tasks, personalized care plans, and wellness checks are all part of what they do, and Magnolia Wood's focus is on comfort but also on keeping a calm, caring place where people feel supported and safe, and if folks ever check reviews there are about eight of them to read through. Common areas are roomy so no one feels crowded, and there's a sense of order to how everything's set up, whether someone needs medication reminders or more hands-on help. The building and its features even have their own unique names, which the staff often use. Everything's tied back to what Magnolia Wood stands for-steady care, a supportive atmosphere, and making sure each resident's needs are met without fuss or show.
Nurse error caused severe harm
I do not recommend Magnolia Woods. A nurse misadministered my TB skin test, which led to health problems, lifelong TB x-rays and a hospitalization, and I was later fired/not allowed to work there. COVID rules limited visits to the window; I became frail from inadequate calories, dropping to 92 lbs. After I left I recovered to 137 lbs.
