    Caring staff, effective rehabilitation experience

I had a very positive rehab stay at Haven of Sedona. The nurses, CNAs, therapists and activities staff were consistently kind, professional and family-like - staff such as Belinda, Janet, Anna Marie and Tatym stood out. My room was clean and spacious, the food was good (vegan/gluten-free options available), therapy really helped my recovery, and social services/leadership made transitions and paperwork easy. The setting and activities made the stay pleasant; I felt well cared for and would recommend Haven for rehabilitation.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Reviews portray Haven Health Sedona as a facility with substantial strengths in clinical rehabilitation, compassionate direct care, and hospitality-style amenities, while also exhibiting several operational inconsistencies that prospective residents and families should weigh. Many accounts emphasize positive clinical outcomes following surgery or illness, attributing recovery to a skilled therapy team and attentive nursing and CNA care. At the same time, recurring operational issues — principally around staffing, medication timing, and communication — appear frequently enough to merit consideration during placement decisions.

Care and staff The strongest theme across the reviews is the quality of hands-on care: nurses, CNAs, therapy staff (physical, occupational, and speech), and wound-care clinicians are repeatedly described as caring, skilled, and personally engaged. Therapy managers and therapists frequently receive praise for individualized programming and measurable functional gains. Social services staff and care coordinators are similarly highlighted for facilitating smooth admissions, insurance coordination, and safe discharges. However, reviewers also describe periods when floor teams are stretched thin; that operational pressure correlates with delays in responding to call lights, variable nursing communication with families, and inconsistencies in medication timing and pain control.

Dining and activities Dining receives mostly favorable comments, particularly regarding a chef-driven menu that accommodates vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets; soups and varied menu items are cited positively. Complaints are more often about inconsistent meal quality, temperature control, and limited side/dessert options on some days. The activities program is another consistent strength: an engaged activities director and recreational staff provide social and therapeutic programming that contributes to a family-like atmosphere and resident engagement.

Facilities and management The facility’s recent renovations, bright and airy design, accessibility features, and scenic views are commonly praised. Housekeeping and maintenance are often called responsive, and many reviewers report clean, comfortable rooms. Conversely, a minority of accounts note sanitation and odor concerns in specific areas and inconsistent property-handling practices (lost items, opened mail). Administrative leadership and certain managers receive positive recognition for professionalism and hands-on involvement; other reviews describe delays in grievance resolution or perceived dismissiveness in follow-up, suggesting variable administrative responsiveness depending on the issue or shift.

Notable patterns and practical considerations Two patterns stand out. First, clinical rehabilitation and therapy capabilities are a clear strength and a primary reason families choose the facility; prospective residents seeking post-acute rehab should find the program substantial and outcome-oriented. Second, operational variability — particularly on weekends or during staffing shortages — affects experience quality in areas such as medication timing, bathing schedules, therapy frequency, response times, and meal consistency. Families should ask specific questions about current staffing ratios, evening/weekend coverage, medication administration protocols, and therapy scheduling when evaluating placement. It is also prudent to confirm processes for property management and grievance escalation.

Bottom line Haven Health Sedona appears to offer high-quality, rehab-focused clinical care and a warm atmosphere supported by many dedicated staff members. Those benefits are tempered by intermittent operational shortcomings tied to staffing and consistency. Prospective residents and families will benefit from targeted questions about staffing patterns, medication and pain-management practices, therapy availability, and administrative follow-up before admission to align expectations with current operational realities.

Everyone gets a plan that fits them. The board and care homes within the community help make things feel home-like, and the staff focus on making every resident feel respected, calm, and well cared for. There are several programs and community setups, each with its own focus, from memory care to independent living, but the common goal is always safety, comfort, and a bit of dignity, whether someone's there for a short rehab after surgery or a longer stay. The setting's close to local beauty, like hiking trails and red rock views, so there's something nice to look at, and visitors tend to notice how clean and comfortable things are thanks to steady housekeeping.
