    Compassionate professional care; highly recommended

I placed my mom here for respite and was consistently impressed by the compassionate, professional staff and attentive, family-run owners. The home is spotless with lovely decor, comfortable rooms and a sunny patio, and the meals were nutritious and accommodating. I felt she was safe, well cared for, and I would happily use their services again and recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on excellent, compassionate caregiving and a consistently clean, well-maintained environment. Reviewers frequently describe the staff as wonderful, attentive, and highly recommend the community. Multiple summaries highlight that the experience was easy for families and that staff took good care of residents, creating a sense of trust and reliability around daily care and coordination with outside services.

Care quality and staffing are the standout themes. Caregivers are repeatedly described as attentive, compassionate, and engaging; staff not only provide necessary care but also chat with residents and visitors, contributing to a social, welcoming atmosphere. The facility is noted to work well with hospice and to provide hospice-compatible care, indicating good coordination with outside providers for residents with serious or terminal illness. Phrases such as fabulous staff, attentive care, and highly recommend recur, indicating that families and visitors feel well supported by the caregiving team.

Facility and cleanliness observations are uniformly favorable. Reviews state the building is always clean, has no smell, and is well kept. This consistent cleanliness contributes to the overall welcoming impression and comfort for residents and visitors. The community is described as smaller and more intimate, with few residents; this scale appears to support personalized attention from staff but may also shape the social environment in ways noted below.

Dining and resident involvement receive positive mentions. Meals are described as smelling good and nutritious, and staff accommodate dietary needs, suggesting flexibility and attention to individual nutrition. Additionally, there are opportunities for residents to be involved in kitchen and laundry tasks, which can support purpose, engagement, and a sense of contribution — useful features for residents who are able and wish to participate in daily activities.

Social life, visitation, and community character: reviewers highlight an open visitation policy with visitors free to come and go, and staff who actively engage with both residents and visitors. The smaller size of the community fosters a close-knit, family-like environment and more direct interactions with staff. However, that small scale is a double-edged point: while it supports individualized care and quieter surroundings, it also means fewer residents and a mostly female population, which may not suit prospective residents seeking a larger, more diverse social scene.

Facilities limitations and suitability: the primary facility-related concern raised is the lack of outdoor walking space beyond a small patio. For residents who value daily outdoor exercise or extensive grounds, this could be a notable drawback. Otherwise, the facility’s interior upkeep and cleanliness are repeatedly affirmed. Taken together, Casa De Los Abuelos appears especially well suited for people who prioritize close personal care, a compassionate staff, hospice compatibility, nutritious meals, and a quiet, small-community setting. Those who require or strongly prefer extensive outdoor areas, more varied social programming tied to a larger resident base, or greater gender balance among residents should weigh the limited outdoor space and smaller population when deciding if this community fits their needs.

    About Casa De Los Abuelos

Casa De Los Abuelos Dos sits in a quiet part of Casas Adobes, Arizona, near 2015 West Ina Road in Tucson, and runs as a cozy, medium-sized place with space for only ten residents, which makes for a closer-knit community where people can really get to know each other over time, and when you look at the rooms, seniors can pick from studio spots, private one-bedroom apartments, or shared living options, all with wheelchair-accessible baths and showers, and you can even bring your dog or cat if you like pets, since pet care is offered right on site. The staff helps out around the clock, including with moving around, medication reminders, bathing, dressing, and trips to the bathroom, and they're ready to help whether folks need one-person or two-person transfer assistance or use a lift, plus folks with more advanced health needs like diabetes, memory loss, or incontinence can get their care here, including insulin shots and blood sugar checks, while computerized alarms and secured memory care areas help keep residents who wander or live with dementia safe. Home care and respite care are available too, which helps both the people living there and their families take a breath when needed, and hospice care is an option for those who need it as well. Three healthy meals are made by a registered dietitian every day, with vegetarian and diabetic choices, and daily planned activities range from movie nights and art classes to animal therapy, music therapy, outings, tabletop games, and group exercises, so there's always something to do, and the facility features a number of cheerful extras like landscaped courtyards, a greenhouse, walking paths, a reading room, a beauty salon, a hot tub, a sauna, fitness rooms, a movie theater, and game rooms, and transportation gets people to appointments or events off-site, including parking if you have a car or if visitors want to come by. Nurses and an on-call RN are available, especially for medication needs and acute care, and visiting services such as physical therapy or speech therapy can be arranged, while the community tries to keep everyone engaged with music, devotional services, exercise, recreation, and a good amount of social events, with care plans tailored toward each resident's health needs and personality. People give Casa De Los Abuelos Dos high ratings, usually mentioning the dependable care, peaceful setting, and range of services, and because it's smaller, the staff can pay attention to each person as changes come up, giving folks a chance to live with as much independence as possible while still having help very close by if it's ever needed.
