    Warm attentive staff spotless home

I'm very pleased with the care my mom receives - the staff are warm, educated, and genuinely loving, treating residents like family with attentive, thorough care. The home is spotless, bright and plant-filled with a lovely patio and mountain views; meals are fresh, homemade and beautifully presented, and staff are responsive to needs and activities. It feels safe, dignified and home-like - I highly recommend it, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray Casa de Abuelos at Edgewood as a small, home-like assisted living environment characterized by warm, attentive caregiving and a high level of cleanliness and upkeep. Families emphasize that staff treat residents with dignity and affection, producing a family-style atmosphere rather than an institutional feel. Management is described as present and communicative, and aesthetic touches such as natural light, plants and an outdoor patio with a fountain and mountain views contribute to a pleasant living environment.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers consistently highlight compassionate, attentive caregivers who provide individualized, respectful support. Statements about caregivers going above and beyond, assisting with personal needs, and supporting residents through end-of-life moments suggest strengths in emotional support and basic personal care. Specific praise for dementia care and for making residents feel comfortable indicates competence with memory-care needs at the level families experienced. Management involvement (including owner participation) is described as hands-on and helpful, and communication with families is presented positively.

Dining and activities: Dining is repeatedly described as homemade, fresh, and attractively presented, with some reviewers using terms associated with fine-dining presentation. Daily activities and occasional outings are mentioned as part of the routine and appear to contribute to resident engagement. The overall tenor is of a modest program of social and recreational opportunities consistent with a smaller residential setting rather than a large institutional schedule.

Facilities and safety: The physical environment is described as spotless, cozy, and well maintained. Safety and accessibility features are noted, and the outdoor patio and views are a recurring positive. Reviewers emphasize comfortable common areas and individualized room arrangements, with anecdotes of management assisting with moves or furnishings, reinforcing the home-like scale.

Management and notable patterns: Reviews indicate a strong service orientation from staff and management, with an emphasis on warmth, responsiveness, and personalized attention. There are positive references to recent ownership changes improving aesthetics; however, that also suggests a period of transition. While the overall sentiment is highly favorable, reviews focus primarily on interpersonal care, cleanliness, dining, and atmosphere rather than clinical or specialized medical services.

Caveats for prospective families: The available reviews do not provide detailed information about clinical staffing patterns (nursing hours, on-call clinicians), formal rehabilitation or therapy services, or the full scope of specialized medical care available on-site. Given mentions of ownership change, families may wish to confirm current leadership stability and any recent operational adjustments. Prospective residents/representatives should verify clinical staffing, medication-management processes, and the scope and frequency of activity and therapy programming to ensure alignment with specific medical or rehabilitative needs.
