    Satisfied family recommends this facility

My family member has lived here eight years and I'm very satisfied. The place is consistently spotless and odor-free, staff and owners are friendly and attentive, nurses provide excellent care, meals and activities are good, the cozy common areas and duck-pond grounds are lovely, and residents' privacy and independence are respected - I have real peace of mind and would gladly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Greenhurst Nursing Center receives strong, repeated praise for its caregiving staff, clinical nursing, and welcoming, home-like environment. Reviewers emphasize educated nurses and attentive direct-care staff who preserve resident independence, privacy, and dignity; several accounts cite measurable clinical improvements (for example, weight gain) and long-term residency with good outcomes. Ownership is locally based and described as engaged and approachable, which contributes to family confidence and a sense of peace of mind.

The facilityโ€™s programming and daily life are also frequently highlighted. Residents and families report a varied activity schedule, regular entertainment, and animal visitation that supports social engagement. Dining is described as diverse and palatable by multiple sources, and common areas are characterized as cozy and well suited to social interaction. The campus setting, including scenic grounds with a pond and dock, is a clear asset for residents who enjoy outdoor space.

Facility condition is a mixed area. Many reviewers describe the center as clean, odor-free, and consistently maintained, citing active cleaning routines and pleasant common areas. However, a distinct set of concerns relates to environmental maintenance and pest-control practices: specific mentions include dirty windows and dusty vents and general sanitation and pest-control concerns. These indicate potential variability in upkeep that may affect different parts of the building or change over time.

Operational limitations are also noted. The facility has limited private-room availability, which may matter to families prioritizing private accommodations. Accessibility issues with outdoor paths and site circulation were reported and could affect residents with mobility needs. Additionally, several reviewers indicate that Greenhurst is not optimized for dementia or specialized memory-care residents; families seeking memory-care programming should assess suitability carefully.

In sum, Greenhurst presents a largely positive profile centered on strong clinical care, compassionate staff, active programming, and an attractive campus. At the same time, there are notable outlier concerns about environmental maintenance, pest-control, private-room availability, accessibility, and memory-care suitability. Prospective families should consider an in-person tour, ask about recent pest-control and maintenance measures, confirm private-room availability, and discuss cognitive-care programming to determine fit for specific resident needs.

    About Greenhurst Nursing Center

Greenhurst Nursing Center sits on a quiet 40-acre property in Franklin County, Arkansas, where it's been serving seniors since 1961, and folks will find 102 certified nursing beds with an average of 96 residents each day, which shows it's well-used though not overcrowded, and rooms come in both private and semiprivate options with each one giving residents their own bathroom, closet space, dresser drawers, cable television, phone jacks, and they can adjust their own heating and air conditioning, which is important for comfort. The center's got a dining area with brass chandeliers, offers one or two prepared meals a day, and daily activities fill the schedule for those who want to stay busy, with a beauty salon on-site, plus a whole range of therapy services including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and Greenhurst handles laundry and housekeeping, too. Folks can get both skilled nursing care and longer-term support, and the staff includes licensed nurses, caregivers, and therapists who provide care around the clock, which is something some families look for, and they say they work up a personalized treatment plan for each person, always paying attention to respect and kindness, which does make a difference to many. The facility takes part in assisted living and memory care services for those who have Alzheimer's or dementia, offering special support and housing, and there's support for both independent seniors and those who need more medical care or rehabilitation, which often fits well for people wanting to stay in one place as their needs change. Greenhurst falls under nursing and rehab in Arkansas, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services designates it as a nursing home, so it has regular inspections, and in April 2024, inspectors found three deficiencies, including one relating to infection control, another for pharmacy services, and one in administration, with previous records showing a total of twelve citations, which means families should check the latest reports for details. Nurse staffing at Greenhurst is slightly below the state average, with about 4.08 nurse hours per resident per day, and that's close but not quite up to Arkansas standards, and the facility operates as a for-profit corporation owned entirely by Jonas Schaffer. Greenhurst offers tour scheduling for those wanting to visit, and residents or their families can claim the community listing to add more information or photos, so over time, people can get a better feel for what life is like there, and the focus remains on helping older adults live safely, whether they're fairly independent or need plenty of care, on a campus where they can see the Arkansas countryside right outside the window.
