    Highly recommend compassionate senior care

I'm grateful for the compassionate, professional staff - nurses, CNAs, therapists and the doctor went above and beyond, kept us updated, and facilitated FaceTime and porch visits during COVID. The facility is warm and hospitable with large open indoor and outdoor social spaces and a free shuttle, and meals and rooms were good overall. I strongly recommend this caring team for anyone needing supportive senior care.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews indicate a facility with several clear strengths alongside recurring operational weaknesses. Many families praise the direct-care teams: nurses, CNAs, and therapists are frequently described as compassionate, engaged, and effective in helping residents regain strength. Staff-driven family communication — including photos and FaceTime calls — is noted as a meaningful positive, and the facility offers conveniences such as a free shuttle and accessible social/outdoor spaces that support resident engagement when programming is available.

Clinical care is uneven. Positive rehabilitation outcomes and attentive nursing care coexist with reports of lapses in clinical documentation and follow-up after incidents. Several accounts describe delays in clinical responsiveness (including physician follow-up) and concerns about how some clinical events are recorded and communicated. Infection-control weaknesses are a recurrent theme; reviewers describe patterns of respiratory illness spread and related hospital transfers, which families should evaluate carefully when considering placement.

Staffing and workplace culture present mixed signals. While many reviewers singled out individual staff members and therapy teams for praise, others described variable caregiver performance, notable CNA turnover, and morale issues. There are also allegations of retaliatory management practices affecting staff retention; these claims suggest workforce instability that can affect continuity of care. Communication and escalation processes between families, the nursing leadership, and external providers (for example hospice) are also described as inconsistent, with some families reporting difficulty reaching decision-makers or receiving timely updates.

Facility condition and daily life are similarly mixed. The building includes spacious common areas and usable outdoor spaces that support group activities; at the same time, portions of the facility and some resident rooms are characterized as aged, with localized odor concerns and sanitation issues (including clothing mildew cited in one account). Activity programming is available (movies, games, social spaces), but several reviewers found it limited or inconsistently delivered, particularly for memory-care residents. Dining quality appears variable: some meals are praised while others are described as poor or inconsistent.

Taken together, the pattern suggests Conway Healthcare & Rehab can deliver strong hands-on care and family-oriented communication in many cases, supported by useful amenities like transportation and communal spaces. However, prospective residents and families should probe operational areas where multiple reviewers identified recurring issues: cleanliness and infection-control practices, clinical documentation and incident follow-up, staffing stability, and management communication/escalation procedures. When evaluating the facility, consider asking for recent infection-control audits, staffing ratios and turnover data, sample activity calendars for memory care, examples of clinical-incident documentation practices, and an opportunity to observe mealtime and common-area conditions during a visit.

    About Conway Healthcare & Rehab

Conway Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center sits in Conway, Arkansas, close to grocery stores, coffee shops, gas stations, restaurants, pharmacies, and banks, so folks have what they need nearby and don't have to travel far for daily essentials or appointments, and the center offers both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care with a focus on different kinds of support, whether someone is looking for Nursing Care, Respite Care-Short Term Stay, or even assisted living services like meals, laundry, activities, 24-hour supervision, limited nursing services, and daily help with the basics. The facility's set up with 105 certified beds, has a nurse turnover rate of 60.5%, and its staff provides about 4.02 nurse hours for every resident each day, and the caregivers include licensed nurses, therapists, and aides who handle care with a focus on kindness and respect, all while offering therapy services on-site and group physical therapy as an option. Folks can pick from different floor plans and payment options, and there are specialized care units too, including secure units separated by gender for those who need extra safety and support, plus the facility operates under Southern Administrative Services as a for-profit limited liability company, which means it's run with a business structure.

Personalized care plans aim to help residents with their health and well-being, and the care's meant to feel patient-centered, with staff who try to treat every person's needs and wants sincerely, all alongside efforts to create a family-like atmosphere where people can feel at home, safe, and supported. Conway Healthcare & Rehab tries to keep everyone busy with daily activities, group events, and opportunities to make friends, and there's transportation for appointments, which is handy for families who don't always have time to drive their loved ones around. The buildings have modern amenities for comfort and safety, so things are kept up-to-date, and there's a peaceful, retreat-like environment to make daily living feel pleasant, but it's good to know that inspections have found some concerns over the years, such as 22 deficiencies being cited, including issues like protecting residents from infections (infection-related deficiencies), and a couple of specific deficiencies like F0584-about resident rights with no actual harm but the potential for more than minimal harm reported-as well as F0600, which relates to freedom from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Still, the staff aims to provide a clean, safe, and homelike place for people who need both help and respect, and there's a focus on getting people the right support for their own situations, always with the intent to encourage joy, engagement, and dignity in later life.
