    Immaculate home-like facility, loving staff

I toured this immaculate, home-like facility and felt immediately welcomed during a thorough, informative tour. The owner/manager lives on-site and the staff are loving, attentive and well trained - excellent caregiver-to-resident ratio with true one-on-one care. The homemade food is delicious, the dining and rooms are bright and comfortable, and activities/therapy (OT most days, PT twice weekly), singing, exercises and family events keep residents engaged. They're safety-conscious, respectful, and negotiable on price for my ambulatory, continent mom - I highly recommend this wonderful, clean place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews present a consistently positive portrait of Eleanor's Residential Home. Across multiple independent summaries, reviewers emphasize a high level of personalized care, strong owner involvement, and a very clean, home-like environment. The dominant themes are individualized attention (frequently described as one-on-one or 1:1 care), professional and loving staff, and a small, private-home atmosphere that many reviewers found comforting and family-oriented.

Care quality and clinical services: Reviewers repeatedly highlight the strong caregiving model and clinical supports. Ratios reported—4–5 caregivers for 5–6 residents and references to 1:1 care—indicate very high staffing levels for the home's size. Occupational therapy visits 5–7 days a week and physical therapy twice weekly were specifically mentioned, as were prompt doctor access and professional dental visits. These points suggest the home provides both daily hands-on assistance and regular allied-health services, which reviewers associated with residents being well-groomed, attended, and medically monitored.

Staff and management: The staff are described with words like loving, attentive, nurturing, respectful, and well trained. Multiple reviewers noted proprietor or director involvement and a clear mission/dedication to residents—one reviewer explicitly stated the proprietor lives on-site. This level of management engagement appears to translate into consistency in care and responsiveness. Staff were also praised for being informative during tours and for explaining routines and schedules. The culture comes across as family-oriented: reviewers described warm welcomes (tea, coffee, lemonade, cake), Sunday dinners, and birthday celebrations that reinforce a personalized approach.

Facilities and cleanliness: The facility is consistently described as immaculate, bright, and comfortable. The setting is a private, six-bedroom home rather than an institutional campus; reviewers appreciated the home-like feel, private rooms, and a sizable dining area. Festive holiday decor and orderly, neat common spaces were noted, reinforcing the impression of a well-maintained small residence.

Dining and hospitality: Meals are repeatedly praised as excellent, homemade, and delicious. The dining area was singled out as nice and big—an important detail in a small home—while hospitality touches (welcome refreshments and cake) were mentioned as memorable positives that contribute to a warm atmosphere.

Activities and social life: Reviewers report a variety of activities, including singing, therapy-oriented exercise, and community celebrations. Entertainment is offered (one summary mentioned entertainment twice a month), and reviewers referred to it as part of what makes the home a happy place. However, the frequency of organized entertainment appears to vary and may be less frequent than in larger communities with more extensive activities departments.

Safety and infection control: Reviewers noted the home was safety-conscious during COVID-19, which contributed to family confidence. Combined with the high staffing ratios and on-site management, this suggests an environment attentive to infection control and resident safety.

Notable patterns and potential concerns: Reviews are overwhelmingly positive with few explicit negatives reported. Where concerns can be inferred from the comments, they are mostly structural rather than performance-related. The small, private six-bedroom model is a strength for people seeking individualized, home-like care, but it could be a limitation for those who prefer a larger community with a wider social network or broader amenity offerings. Entertainment was mentioned as occurring twice a month in at least one summary, which some families might consider limited compared with larger senior living communities that schedule daily programs. Pricing was noted as negotiable depending on the resident’s mobility and continence; this indicates variability in cost and suggests that full pricing transparency will be important for prospective families, and that costs may be higher for residents requiring more intensive care.

Bottom line: Eleanor's Residential Home presents as a small, highly attentive, and well-managed residence that excels in cleanliness, personalized staffing, clinical support, and home-style hospitality. It is particularly well suited for families seeking individualized attention, frequent allied-health services, and a family-oriented atmosphere. Prospective residents and families should weigh the advantages of close, dedicated care and a private-home setting against the smaller scale of social programming and potential cost variability tied to care needs.
