    Loving attentive care in garden

I moved my dad here and have been very pleased - loving, attentive staff and nurses on call, long-tenured caregivers who respect dignity, and a peaceful spiritual community beside the church. The bright, single-floor garden condos and cottages (private patios, hotel-like rooms with mini-fridge/microwave) are clean and well kept, with beautiful landscaping, outdoor paths and a true garden sanctuary. Meals and on-site bistro are good, there are lots of activities and exercise classes, and overall my dad is happy and recuperating well.

    Summary of reviews

Lincoln Glen Manor is consistently described as a small, community‑oriented facility with a strong caregiving culture. Across accounts, staff are highlighted as experienced, patient, and attentive; reviewers emphasize long‑tenured teams, a high staff‑to‑resident ratio, and continuity of assignments that contribute to consistent day‑to‑day care. The facility includes dedicated memory care, cottages that accommodate couples, and single‑floor condo/apartment configurations that many families find convenient for mobility and privacy.

The physical campus is repeatedly noted for its landscaping and outdoor amenities: private fenced patios, garden paths, backyards for some units, and communal outdoor features such as a dog area and a garden sanctuary. Interior accommodations are described as bright and hotel‑like, often including small kitchenettes with mini‑fridges and microwaves; garden apartment units around 600 sq ft are common. The property supports an active program schedule — exercise classes, on‑site therapists, ceramics, music programs (including orchestra and piano), games, and regular outings — and maintains a spiritual life with an on‑site chapel or church presence.

Areas of operational weakness emerge primarily around the built environment and program fit. Several comments point to an older physical plant: popcorn ceilings, dated finishes, and maintenance items such as uneven or bumpy sidewalks. Some reviewers expressed odor concerns and described certain common areas as stuffy, and there are repeated notes about limited hallway ventilation or air conditioning. Security and egress practices are a recurring theme; descriptions indicate either restrictive movement controls for some residents or perimeter/security features that reviewers found insufficiently secure. Unit size relative to price and limited bistro/dining menu options were also cited as considerations for prospective residents evaluating value and daily convenience.

Dining and activities receive mixed but generally positive feedback: meals are often described as good and the activity calendar as varied and engaging, though occasional inconsistency in food quality and a limited bistro menu were noted. Management strengths include affordable pricing for some units and no move‑in fee, but limited availability and wait‑list constraints are realities for applicants. Overall, Lincoln Glen Manor appears to be a well‑staffed, compassionate option with attractive outdoor spaces and a close‑knit feel; prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s older infrastructure, apartment size vs. cost, and security/ventilation characteristics alongside the strong caregiving and programmatic offerings when deciding whether it meets their priorities.

    About Lincoln Glen Manor

Lincoln Glen Manor sits on six acres in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose and offers four levels of care-independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing-so people who move in can stay as their needs change, and they don't have to move away from familiar staff and friends. The campus address is 2671 Plummer Avenue. The place has 30 furnished studio units and a single one-bedroom suite for assisted living. Residents get use of lounge areas, entertainment rooms, and common grounds full of gardens and spots to sit outside in the sun or shade. The grounds are secure, with a wander alert system using bracelets that ring an alarm if a resident leaves the community, and there's staff watching over things around the clock-nurses are there too, and the staff stays awake all night.

People with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia have a purpose-built memory care building of their own. This area features activities that are made for memory support, like exercises, music, art classes, brain fitness, and Wii Bowling, so everyone can stay active and engaged. The facility can handle exit-seeking behavior and accepts people who wander or act out physically. Technology inside the homes alerts staff if someone tries to leave. Residents with diabetes or incontinence get special care, with medication management, blood sugar checks, and help with tasks like bathing, dressing, and transferring-even with mechanical lifts if needed-but insulin injections have to be self-administered. Staff also helps with behavioral symptoms and can care for people who are an elopement risk.

There's a main dining room where meals are cooked by an on-site chef, and they're able to handle special diets like low or no sodium and low or no sugar. Residents can keep a cat or dog. They enjoy devotional services both on the grounds and offsite, weekly chapel services, and a beauty salon for haircuts and grooming. Activities change daily-Tai Chi, yoga, cooking classes, outings, and community service programs are all available. Technology includes Wi-Fi and a Dish Network television package in the rooms. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are handled weekly, with a laundry room available for everyone.

The Manor has won awards for its friendly staff, good food, and engaging activities. There's always guest meals if family visits, and transportation is available in wheelchair-accessible vans for medical appointments, shopping, or outings. Supervised activity areas, a central lobby, treatment and exam rooms, and a centralized care station keep things organized. Residents pay about $10,319 per month for a memory care studio, and all rooms are private and spacious. The staff supervises and observes any changes in residents' health or mood, and there's bedside care if someone gets sick for a short time.

Lincoln Glen Manor calls itself a California Continuing Care Retirement Community, or CCRC, and provides extra home care help for folks who need to stay at home with companionship and non-medical support. People who live here become part of a close-knit community where every person is treated with respect, and everything's arranged to keep residents comfortable, safe, and active as long as possible.
