    Caring staff clean highly recommended

I'm pleased with my stay at Parkmoor - the staff are caring, professional and responsive, CNAs are consistent, management is hands-on, and maintenance is quick. The facility is clean and home-like, meals are excellent and customizable, therapy restored mobility, and there are lots of activities. The community feels like family; I recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Parkmoor Village Health and Rehabilitation are highly polarized. A consistent positive thread praises the facility's rehabilitation program and therapy team, which many families credit with measurable functional gains. Numerous accounts describe individual nurses, CNAs, and aides as compassionate, skilled, and attentive; several reviewers highlighted customizable menus, strong COVID-19 protections, active daily programming, and prompt maintenance when work orders are submitted. Portions of the building are described as clean and home-like, and the facility offers on-site therapy and exercise amenities that support recovery and engagement.

At the same time, there is a recurrent pattern of operational weaknesses. Staffing levels and turnover are frequently cited as problematic, producing long waits for assistance, delayed response to call lights, and inconsistent delivery of routine care. Multiple reviews describe variability in management responsiveness: some families encounter an engaged administrator, while others report poor communication or leadership decisions that undermine staff continuity. Sanitation and odor concerns are raised for certain units and common areas, indicating inconsistent housekeeping or incontinence-care practices across the campus.

Dining and activity experiences appear uneven. Many reviewers report excellent meals and dietary customization, but others describe cold food, small portions, or limited diet accommodations. Activities and social programming are generally seen as a strength for resident engagement, though access to therapy services can be inconsistent between short-term rehab residents and long-term care residents. Facility condition descriptions vary from recently renovated, bright spaces to areas with run-down furniture, small rooms lacking phones or TVs, and intermittent maintenance problems such as lights or temperature control issues.

Families also describe notable administrative and systems-level concerns: communication gaps about clinical changes and appointment coordination, missed or delayed transportation to external medical appointments, personal-property and laundry management failures, and billing or authorization disputes. A small number of reviews raise serious individual allegations, including medication-management irregularities and alleged financial misconduct; these appear to be isolated but significant and warrant direct inquiry by prospective families.

Overall, Parkmoor Village offers strong clinical rehabilitation and several highly regarded caregivers and programming, but reviewers repeatedly emphasize inconsistent performance across shifts and units. Prospective residents and their families should schedule an in-person visit that includes observation of staffing on the unit at different times of day, review of the admission and billing paperwork, questions about laundry and property policies, clarification of medication- and appointment-management protocols, and a tour of the specific room/unit under consideration. Reviewing recent state inspection reports and speaking with current families on site may help clarify whether the positive clinical strengths are matched by consistent operational reliability in the areas of staffing, cleanliness, and administration.

About Parkmoor Village Health and Rehabilitation

Parkmoor Village Health and Rehabilitation sits in Colorado Springs and provides long-term care, nursing home care, and health services for seniors, and it operates as part of a Skilled Nursing Facility within a Continuing Care Retirement Community, and you'll hear names like Mr. Matthew Auman, the CEO, and Mr. Alan Campbell, the Administrator, who help oversee decisions there, but what folks find here is a focus on safe, clean, and home-like living for older adults with healthcare needs, especially those recovering from surgery, illness, or hospital stays, and they have a Parkmoor Village Healthcare Center and Parkmoor Village Care Center where skilled nursing care comes with help for daily tasks like bathing, dressing, medication management, and transfers, while nurses stay on duty for 12-16 hours with a 24-hour supervision system, a responsive call button, and support from partners such as Reliant Rehabilitation and Integrated Health Service. This community has rooms that offer air conditioning, cable TV, private bathrooms, kitchenettes, telephones, and Wi-Fi or high-speed internet, and the food, made by a professional chef, gets served in a community dining room with restaurant-style service and allergy-sensitive choices. There's space for social activities, and you'll find an outdoor area, walking paths, a tranquil garden, scheduled daily activities, a movie theater, arts and music programs, a library, an activity room, a fitness room, a game room, and places to sit outside, including a nice outdoor common space. Residents can join lifelong activities, community events, and outdoor programs to help them stay involved, plus transport and parking options are there to help them keep in touch with the larger community. The staff aims to be friendly and helpful, and the facility offers care for serious conditions, including cancer. While amenity details aren't fully listed, the setting tries to feel close to home, and homemaking and nursing services are part of their offer. It's known for giving care to folks with greater health needs, but it's important to note the center holds an average rating of 2.1 out of 5 from six reviews, and the reported average price sits at $240, but full pricing and a full list of services or amenities haven't been published. Parkmoor Village Health and Rehabilitation is not BBB accredited, and it's been influenced by government policies about funding and reimbursements. The home is associated with the Colorado Health Care Association. Parkmoor Village Health and Rehabilitation did close after staffing shortages and increased supply costs due to the pandemic, which affected many similar places, and some parts of its operations may have changed after that.
