    Warm professional staff, resort community

I toured and moved my mom in and was very pleased. The team-especially Josie and Executive Director Candice-was warm, professional, and genuinely compassionate. The bright, resort-like, brand-new community offers excellent amenities, engaging activities, great food, and confident 24/7 care; I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

MorningStar Senior Living at Old Town is consistently described as a high-end, well-organized senior living community with strong leadership and a caregiving staff noted for compassion and attentiveness. Families and visitors frequently praise the executive team and community-relations staff for clear communication and a supportive approach to transitions; the executive director and named staff members drew repeated positive mention. The care model emphasizes dignity and individualized attention, and reviewers describe staff as timely, skilled, and committed to resident well-being. Memory-care design received specific positive comment for thoughtful planning.

The campus and amenities are a central strength. The building is new and modern, with resort-style common areas, extensive on-site services (salon, therapy room, fitness and therapy spaces, indoor pool and hot pool, movie theater, libraries, art room, spa, and outdoor patios with grilling areas), and functional conveniences such as a staffed 24/7 entrance and an on-site parking garage. Many reviews highlighted scenic mountain and treetop views and the Old Town location, which provides convenient access to restaurants, shops, trails, and cultural activities. Suites and shared spaces are described as bright, well-maintained, and designed with attention to detail.

Dining and activities are generally viewed positively: food quality is frequently called good or delicious, and programming offers many opportunities for social engagement and enrichment (examples include community events and resident gatherings). At the same time, reviewers noted occasional inconsistencies in activity coordination and gaps in holiday-specific programming, which can affect expectations for calendar-driven events. Admissions and move-in processes are another area of mixed feedback: staff are praised for move-in assistance, yet families report administrative friction tied to electronic paperwork and coordination logistics. The resident agreement and contract process drew criticism for being complex and including a mandatory binding arbitration clause, which some families found constraining.

Overall, MorningStar Old Town appears to deliver high-quality clinical and hospitality-oriented services suited to people seeking an upscale, amenity-rich, age-in-place community. Prospective residents who prioritize a modern, resort-like environment and strong leadership and caregiving teams are likely to find the community appealing. Those seeking a more traditional, homelike aesthetic or who are sensitive to contract terms and premium pricing should plan focused conversations with admissions about atmosphere, activity calendars, and contract details during their tour and move-in planning.

About MorningStar Senior Living at Old Town

MorningStar Senior Living at Old Town sits right in the heart of historic Old Town and sits on the top three floors of a five-story mixed-use building that blends modern and classic design, keeping to Old Town's style along College Avenue, and you'll find 90 apartments for independent living, 45 suites for assisted living, and 25 memory care suites in what they call the Reflections Neighborhood, which is for those living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, so there's a wide variety of housing that includes studio, one, and two-bedroom units with room sizes ranging from 361 up to 1,281 square feet, in a mid-rise building that allows pets and has easy transitions to more care if needed, and well, though detailed information isn't currently available-since there was a server error trying to get specifics-you'll see this community does offer independent living, assisted living, memory care, home care, adult day services, long-term care, Medicare-certified home health care, and hospice care, which basically means there's a lot of options for different care needs.

Now, from what's available, the place features resort-style amenities like a Sky Terrace, swimming pool, and nice courtyards, and the building's got engaging social areas and activity spaces, which means you can keep busy or have quiet time depending on your mood, plus they've got wellness programs and fitness amenities, and transportation services are available for errands or appointments, which can be a relief if driving isn't possible, and since the community is near UC Health Poudre Valley Hospital, help isn't far away if there's a need, which always gives a sense of security. There's a team of skilled professionals on hand for personal care, including 24/7 assistance with daily tasks if you need it, and meals are tailored for good nutrition and taste, which matters as much as comfort does, and you'll see that activities and programs encourage socializing, movement, and well-being for a vibrant life, so residents have options to stay active or enjoy quiet, personal time. There are also virtual tours and photos online if you want to see what the interiors look like, and while some features and more details can't be listed because information just isn't available right now, the overall setting aims to create a welcoming and supportive place for seniors, whether you want independent living, assisted support, or memory care in the Reflections Neighborhood, and there's a promise of compassionate round-the-clock attention for those who need help with daily living routines or more.
