    Attentive, loving, professional respite care

I placed my dad here for respite care and I'm highly satisfied. He is well cared for - the staff are understanding, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond, even helping with Medicaid and insurance navigation. The facility is clean, intimate and feels like a comfortable, non-traditional second home; he looks and feels much better. Attentive, loving, professional care - I highly recommend.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews for Ella's Place Assisted Living present a polarized picture. A number of families describe the facility as an intimate, home-like setting where residents receive attentive, personalized care that improves their quality of life. These accounts emphasize patient, knowledgeable staff who provide professional respite services, help with Medicaid and insurance navigation, and maintain a clean, comfortable environment that residents and families find reassuring.

Conversely, other reviewers raised significant operational concerns. Key themes include inconsistent caregiving quality and sanitation or odor-control concerns in some areas. Several comments point to interruptions in meal service or unreliable meal provision, which family members identified as a core service reliability issue. There are also repeated remarks about staff professionalism and conduct that fall short of expectations, together with perceived administrative shortcomings such as an emphasis on billing processes over visible care oversight.

Staff performance appears mixed: many families praised individual caregivers as patient and compassionate, while others described rude or unprofessional interactions and poor handling of business matters. Management-level concerns include inconsistent communication with families and administrative handling that some families found unsatisfactory. At the same time, positive experiences frequently highlight helpful coordination around benefits and insurance, suggesting strengths in certain administrative areas despite broader communication gaps.

Facility characteristics are described in contrasting terms: several reviewers call the setting clean, intimate, and homelike, while others raised sanitation and odor-control concerns in particular spaces. Activity and programming details are less commonly cited; however, the at-home atmosphere and small scale suggest a non-traditional, personalized approach to daily life rather than a large institutional model.

Overall, the pattern is one of variability: the facility can provide compassionate, effective care in a small, home-like setting, but families should be aware of recurring operational issues reported by others. Prospective residents and their families would benefit from targeted questions during a visit — for example, about meal-service continuity, sanitation and odor-control protocols, staffing levels and shift coverage, staff conduct policies, and billing/administrative procedures — to determine whether Ella's Place aligns with their expectations and needs.

    About Ella's Place Assisted Living

Ella's Place Assisted Living welcomes residents needing help with daily tasks or just wanting a friendly, supportive setting, and the staff always keeps the health, safety, and dignity of residents in mind, whether someone moves into a private suite or shares a room with another person, and the accommodations come fully furnished, with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and even bathtubs for those who want them, so it feels like home but with added safety and company. The place caters to both seniors who want social activity and those needing more care, offering active schedules of exercise classes, daily activities, weekly outings, and movie room entertainment, while also taking care of laundry and housekeeping, so no one has to worry about chores. Residents don't have to cook because three healthy meals are served each day, with organic options and special diets like diabetes-friendly or allergy-sensitive dishes, and anytime dining is available for different schedules. Staff provides medication management, help with bathing, dressing, and personal care, and keeps a watchful eye twenty-four hours a day, making sure people get what they need, even if they're non-ambulatory or require incontinence care. Memory care is on hand for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, and the community plans daily routines and programs that let people remain as active and independent as possible, whether it's by joining recreational and religious activities or simply walking through the gardens or sitting in outdoor and indoor common areas. Transportation is arranged for outings and appointments and there's resident parking, too. The operation is run by Community Youth & Elderly Services, Inc., with staff aiming to involve residents in decisions and respect their choices, while always providing maintenance-free living and supporting friendships through structured social programs. There's a call system for emergencies and 24/7 supervision for peace of mind, and the community accepts people who need both short-term respite care and long-term assisted living in a safe, welcoming environment.
