    Compassionate professional rehab, felt supported

I stayed here for rehab and felt heard, cared for, and treated like family. The staff - especially Marcy Foster and Duresa - were attentive and professional; PT/OT/speech were excellent and the activities team kept me engaged. The facility is clean, organized, and handled my discharge and transition smoothly. I'm grateful to the whole team and would recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center present a mixed picture in which clear strengths coexist with recurring operational concerns. Many families and patients praise the facility's rehabilitation capabilities: physical and occupational therapy teams receive consistent positive comments for helping patients regain independence, and multidisciplinary oversight is often credited with clinical progress. The activities department is repeatedly highlighted for its creativity and ability to engage residents, and several social-work and admissions staff members are described as supportive and effective in discharge planning and coordination.

Clinical-care impressions vary. Positive accounts emphasize attentive nursing, individualized CNA care, and successful therapy outcomes. Counterbalancing those are reports pointing to inconsistent clinical practices — in particular medication-administration lapses and variable follow-through on routine hygiene and continence care. A small number of reviews describe serious clinical incidents and family escalation; given the severity of those claims, families should examine facility incident logs and regulatory records when evaluating placement.

Staffing and staff conduct emerge as another clear pattern. Multiple reviews name individual staff who provided exemplary care, and front-desk and therapy personnel are frequently commended. At the same time reviewers cite understaffing, frequent turnover, language barriers on some shifts, and occasional unprofessional communication from unit leadership. Those operational issues are linked in reviews to delays in response times, inconsistent bedside care, and uneven family communication.

Dining and food service receive mixed feedback. The activities and social programming are strong, but meal quality and service are inconsistent: numerous accounts mention cold or bland meals, deviations from the posted menu, and issues with pureed options. Families concerned about nutrition and meal delivery should ask about kitchen scheduling, meal-temperature protocols, and accommodations for textured diets during tours.

Facility condition and operations show variability. Several reviewers describe clean, well-maintained common areas and functioning therapy spaces; others note aging building infrastructure, maintenance shortfalls, sanitation concerns in resident rooms or dining areas, and pest-control issues. Concerns about laundry, personal belongings, and transportation logistics (including nonfunctional transport vehicles) are also described. There are references to prior regulatory findings, which suggests prospective families should review the facility's most recent inspection and corrective-action records.

Management and communication receive mixed assessments: some families highlight proactive social workers and activity directors who facilitate care and transitions, while others describe weak incident response, delayed or inadequate follow-up, and adversarial interactions when concerns were raised. Allegations of serious incidents appear in a limited number of accounts; these underscore the importance of verifying staffing ratios, medication-administration audits, sanitation practices, and complaint-resolution procedures before placement.

In summary, Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center offers demonstrable strengths in therapy services, an active activities program, and a number of compassionate, high-performing staff members. However, recurring operational themes — inconsistent medication and hygiene processes, sanitation and pest-control issues, variable meal service, understaffing, and aging infrastructure — introduce risk and variability in the resident experience. Prospective residents and families should schedule an in-person tour, request recent inspection reports and staffing metrics, meet the therapy team, and ask for documentation of infection-control, pest-control, medication-audit, and staffing policies to confirm that the facility's strong elements align with their expectations for safe, reliable care.

About Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center

Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lehigh Acres, Florida, is a full-service skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, and you'll find it's got a wide range of services for anyone needing short-term rehab, long-term care, or even memory care, while they also handle medical needs like wound vac services, tracheostomy care, IV antibiotics, and TPN, and they've got skilled nursing staff available 24 hours a day. The center has 128 certified beds, private rooms with private bathrooms, and orthopedic private suites, and you'll notice they carry out pain and symptom management and help people with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and respiratory therapy too. Folks here get wound care from a certified wound and ostomy nurse, and with wound vacs and the ability to manage high-flow oxygen up to 10 liters, it means they care for residents with fairly complex needs, including those needing specialized orthopedic recovery or post-acute rehabilitation, and they use advanced equipment like anti-gravity treadmills. Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center also accepts patients requiring things like peritoneal dialysis, trach care, and those on IV medications, so the staff's trained for a lot of different medical cases.

While the nursing turnover rate sits at 43.2%, that's slightly better than the state average, and nurse hours per resident per day come in just under Florida's average, at 3.77 hours, and the staff here is made up of trained nurses, therapists, and over 20 affiliated providers and specialists. Recent inspection reports have listed up to 26 deficiencies, with at least one related to infection prevention, and the center says it focuses closely on infection control and patient safety, always working to promote independence, dignity, and respect for everyone who stays there. Medication management is provided, and residents can expect patient-centered care planning tailored to individual needs, whether it's for recovery after hospitalization or for ongoing support. The facility's affiliated with Gold Fl Trust II and owned 100% by Lehigh Acres SNF Holdco LLC, and it's got specialists and experienced staff to offer a family-like atmosphere with comprehensive therapies, personal response services, and caring support. Care is available any time of day or night, every day of the year, and the center aims to help people recover function, stay as independent as possible, and live with dignity.
