    Warm, attentive, spotless family-run home

I placed my mom in this intimate, six-room, family-run home with an RN owner and I'm very pleased. The staff are warm, competent and treat residents like family - attentive care, hospital/rehab visits, and daily encouragement to get up and socialize. The house is spotless with no odors, homemade meals, regular activities (karaoke, music, games, manicures/pedicures), and good safety features (front buzzer/key-code). I'd recommend it for families wanting personal, attentive senior care.

    Summary of reviews

Home Sweet Home is consistently described as a very small, family-run residential option with an RN owner and an emphasis on a home-like environment. Reviewers frequently highlight personalized, hands-on care: staff are characterized as attentive and familial, residents are helped with daily routines such as dressing and congregating in the main living area, and the provider supports transitions to hospital and rehab when needed. The facility’s scale (approximately six rooms, single and double-occupancy) and family atmosphere are central strengths for families seeking a close-knit setting.

Care quality and staff performance are among the facility’s most cited positives. Several accounts note that residents receive individualized attention, staff accompany residents to outside appointments, and owners and caregivers engage directly in daily care. At the same time, there are recurring concerns about inconsistent responsiveness—examples include difficulties getting reliable information by phone and instances where family members felt their concerns were not taken seriously. Operationally, this suggests variability in administrative communication and staff availability that families should clarify during a tour or intake conversation.

Dining and activities are described favorably. Homemade, home-cooked meals and frequent entertainment (karaoke, music, exercise games, card games) are regular features; on-site grooming such as manicures and pedicures is also available. The small size supports individualized activities and frequent social interaction, but the limited common-space capacity can constrain larger group programming or visitor gatherings. Additionally, some reviewers raised mobility-related concerns (residents spending prolonged periods seated), which points to potential gaps in repositioning or activity-monitoring practices for less-mobile residents.

Facilities and management reflect the trade-offs of a small, family-operated home. Positive notes include a spotless appearance in many accounts, a wooden deck with a privacy fence, and secure entry systems. Limitations cited are the facility’s small bed capacity (which can limit availability), a location that may be inconvenient for some families, and occasional sanitation or cleanliness inconsistencies. A few families also encountered limited transparency about pricing and intake information during their initial contact. Prospective families should verify current housekeeping practices, tour communal spaces to assess capacity for their needs, and request clear written information about costs and admission procedures.

Overall, Home Sweet Home appears well suited to individuals who prioritize a home-like environment, personalized attention, and frequent social activities in a small setting. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of individualized care against operational constraints such as limited space, availability, and potential variability in administrative responsiveness. A direct visit, conversations with the RN owner about care protocols (including mobility support and cleaning schedules), and clarification of pricing and communication procedures are recommended steps before placement.
