    Moved mom into elegant community

I moved my mom into this brand-new, elegant independent-living community and have been very happy so far. The staff and management are exceptional-warm, attentive, on-site 24/7-and residents are friendly; there's a real sense of family and community. The building and grounds are beautiful and immaculate with resort-style amenities (pool, theater, library, salon, shuttle) and plenty of daily activities and outings. Meals are scratch-made and excellent, housekeeping and services reliable. It's pricey, but for the safety, quality of life, and caring staff, I'd highly recommend it to families.

    Summary of reviews

The Savoy presents as a newly built, resort-like independent living community with a strong emphasis on hospitality, amenities, and social programming. Many reviewers highlight the facility’s attractive public spaces, large dining room, theater, gym, pool, salon, and library, and describe the building as clean and well maintained. Apartment options include layouts with balconies and two-bedroom units that offer kitchenettes; housekeeping is provided regularly and the property offers guest accommodations and move-in incentives.

Staffing and day-to-day care are frequently praised. The community operates with on-site, often 24/7, managers and staff who are described as attentive, compassionate, and responsive to resident needs. There is an active clinical and wellness element: on-site rehabilitation services (PT/OT), exercise classes, yoga, and a calendar of mind-stimulation and social programs. Transportation/shuttle services to appointments and shopping, weekly excursions, and family-friendly events are commonly cited as strengths that support an engaged lifestyle.

Dining is a central feature of the community’s identity. The executive chef and kitchen team receive repeated commendation for scratch-made preparations, made-to-order breakfasts, and a varied menu; many reviewers characterize the dining experience as restaurant-like and social. At the same time, there is notable variability in satisfaction with meal service and execution. Concerns include inconsistent meal quality or service interactions, limited beverage options during meals, no grab-and-go meal choices, and occasionally long meal service periods. There are also isolated concerns about food handling and waste-management practices that prospective families may wish to discuss directly with management.

Operationally, the Savoy scores highly on amenities and community life but has some facility-level limitations to weigh. Pricing is consistently described as premium, and ongoing annual increases are a consideration for long-term affordability. Unit design—particularly open-concept studios—can mean small footprints and limited closet/storage space. The community appears to be focused on independent living rather than a full continuum of long-term medical care; stay-duration limitations and transitions to higher-acuity settings are aspects families should clarify when planning future needs. Reviewers also note variability in staff retention and interpersonal culture, occasional maintenance and internet reliability issues, and occasional concerns about management communication and phone responsiveness.

Overall, the Savoy is positioned as an upscale independent living option with strong hospitality, abundant programming, and a chef-driven dining program that many residents find elevating. Prospective residents and families should balance the community’s social and amenity strengths against cost, unit size, the independent-living focus, and the potential for variability in staffing and certain operational services. Visiting the community during meal service, meeting the management team, and discussing contingency plans for higher-acuity care will help determine fit for individual needs.
