    Caring, clean, organized, highly recommended

I placed my loved one here and I'm very pleased - the caregivers are loving, respectful and attentive, and the staff is friendly and organized. The home is clean and homey, with three meals a day; my family member enjoys TV and walking around and seems happy. It fit our needs, the owner is caring, and I would highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews for Mahoney's Personal Care Home show a split picture: multiple families describe a small, home-like setting with attentive caregivers, regular meals, and owner involvement, while other reviewers raise substantive operational concerns. Positively, reviewers report a family atmosphere, respectful interactions from many caregivers, an organized interior, and daily meal service coupled with low-key activities such as TV and walking opportunities. Several families explicitly said their loved ones were happy and treated like part of the household.

Conversely, a set of reviews describes notable sanitation concerns and deficiencies in basic personal-care routines. These comments indicate inconsistent cleanliness in certain areas and instances of inadequate incontinence care. Related clinical concerns include gaps in monitoring residents' fluid intake and other basic needs; a few reviewers associated those gaps with more serious clinical outcomes. Together these items suggest variability in day-to-day care processes and in how consistently staff follow personal-care and monitoring protocols.

Staff performance is described unevenly. Many reviewers praise friendly, attentive, and respectful caregivers and highlight the owner's positive involvement. At the same time, other reviewers describe issues with staff conduct and tone — for example, raised voices or brusque communication — and note delays in attending to resident needs. These contrasting impressions point to variability in staff training, supervision, or staffing levels that may affect resident experience.

Dining and activities are straightforward: the facility provides three daily meals and simple recreational options (television and walking), but on-site amenities and organized outings appear limited. Some families specifically noted a lack of field trips or expanded programming, which may be important for residents seeking more active engagement.

Management and oversight show mixed signals. Positive comments about owner responsiveness coexist with comments indicating multiple complaints and uneven resolution. This pattern suggests opportunities to strengthen complaint-resolution procedures, clinical oversight, and staff supervision to reduce variability in care quality.

For prospective residents and families: consider touring at different times of day, asking about cleaning and incontinence-care protocols, staffing ratios and training, fluid-intake and clinical-monitoring practices, examples of activity programming, and how the facility documents and resolves family complaints. Those who prioritize a small, family-oriented setting with hands-on owner involvement may find the environment appealing; families for whom consistent clinical oversight and broader amenities are essential should seek detailed, up-to-date assurances about operational controls before deciding.

    About Mahoney's Personal Care Home

Mahoney's Personal Care Home sits in a quiet neighborhood in Snellville, Georgia, and offers long-term care services for seniors in a familiar, home-like setting, so when you walk through the door you can see how much care goes into keeping things tidy and giving a warm welcome, and with licensed beds for up to five residents you find a small community where folks get to know each other well, whether they're gathered for daily meals-including vegetarian and diabetic-friendly options-or chatting in the indoor and outdoor common areas, or joining scheduled outings and activities that bring a bit of fun or help everyone stay active. The staff here provides 24-hour supervision, which really helps families breathe easier, and residents get personalized help with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, plus regular medication management, laundry, housekeeping, and home-cooked meals. There's an on-site nurse and monthly doctor visits, so health is monitored closely, and staff coordinate with outside healthcare providers for more involved needs, all while making sure people who need memory care, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia, have extra support with wandering protection and comfort for anxiety. Transportation gets arranged for medical appointments, and whether someone needs diabetic care, incontinence support, or help with walking, the trained staff is always around to lend a hand and keep an eye out, so residents can relax and feel safe. The house has both private and semi-private rooms with accessible bath tubs, comfortable spaces to gather, and a wellness center plus emergency pendants, which are good to have close by, and ministers on-site at all times for those who want spiritual support. Mahoney's takes pets like cats and dogs, has a friendly atmosphere, offers flexible short-term stays, and welcomes group meals, on-site activities, and a structure that lets residents feel part of a little family, and the staff is noted for being attentive, respectful, and cheerful, so even those who need more care can find company and support without the bustle of a bigger institution, and many families say their loved ones receive good care here.
