    Wonderful, safe, personalized memory care

I placed my mom at Ashley Manor and have been very pleased - staff are knowledgeable, kind, and treat residents like family, and management (Stacie, Bridget, Danielle) is engaged and responsive. Rooms and grounds are bright, clean and home-like, memory care is dignified and personalized, and activities (nails, hair, crafts) keep residents engaged and happy. Overall a wonderful, safe place I'd recommend; a few small tweaks would make it perfect.

    Summary of reviews

Overall, reviews describe a facility with many attributes families seek in a senior-living setting alongside recurring operational concerns. Positive descriptions cluster around the physical environment and daily life: grounds and common spaces are kept bright and welcoming, resident rooms are described as clean and personalized, and seasonal/homelike décor contributes to a non-institutional atmosphere. Dining and service are frequently characterized as cheerful, and many reviewers describe residents as happy, engaged, and forming friendships.

Care and staff receive mixed but substantial commendation. Numerous comments emphasize friendly, attentive caregivers who learn residents’ names, strong teamwork, and staff who go beyond baseline duties to support comfort and dignity. The facility’s memory-care focus is noted as a strength, with specific activities (crafts, hair/nail services, social programs) and individualized care planning praised. Several families also highlighted managers and administrators who are accessible and willing to meet to discuss care.

Counterbalancing those strengths are several operational patterns that prospective families should weigh. Leadership stability and consistency appear uneven: while some accounts praise responsive management, other accounts describe persistent leadership problems and HR nonresponsiveness. Staffing is also a concern — reviewers cite high turnover, understaffing, and gaps in supervision or training that can affect timely assistance and fall-prevention practices. Clinical coordination and physician responsiveness are identified as areas needing improvement, including delays in attending to urgent clinical needs and inconsistent communication between clinicians and families.

Other recurring issues relate to everyday operations: communication can be problematic (phone-line access and front-desk tone), visitation policies may be inflexible at times, and there are occasional sanitation and laundry-handling inconsistencies in resident rooms. Transportation logistics and costs for outings have been noted as burdensome by some families, and there are allegations of missing personal items and package-theft concerns that point to weaknesses in security and property controls. Activity programming is generally a strength but appears uneven across units or residents in some accounts.

In summary, Ashley Manor presents many positive features — a homelike environment, committed caregiving staff, dementia-focused programming, and engaging activities — that make it a good fit for many residents. At the same time, prospective residents and families should investigate current leadership stability, staffing levels and turnover, clinical-care coordination, communication protocols, and property-security measures during tours and conversations with administration to ensure the facility’s day-to-day operations meet their expectations.

    About Ashley Manor Senior Living

Ashley Manor Senior Living sits in Mountain Home, Idaho, and is part of a close senior care community run by Community Living Retirement of Mountain Home, Inc. The facility has a license as a Residential Care Facility, with 10 beds, and focuses on providing long-term care that helps both residents and their families feel more at ease. Residents can use assisted living services, memory care, and respite care, along with short-term stays for recovery. The place offers help with daily needs like bathing, eating, dressing, and medicines, and there's skilled nursing and medical monitoring on-site at all times.

Staff provide 24/7 care and supervision, and there are programs specific to Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, with units designed just for memory care. Rooms are private or semi-private, with wheelchair-friendly bathrooms, emergency call systems, and regular assistance for incontinence or behavior needs. Shared spaces like an outdoor patio, library, social room, and a community garden give people a chance to be outside or do different activities, and there's a secured backyard with walking paths for fresh air and safety.

Meals are made daily by chefs or meal planners, and special diets can be arranged. Residents get three home-cooked meals a day and snacks, and families can join during mealtimes. Laundry and housekeeping services keep rooms tidy, and bedsheets and clothes fresh. Ashley Manor hosts daily activities and therapies to help with memory, social connection, and physical activity, including Aroma Therapy, Music Therapy, Light Therapy, Reminiscence Therapy, and Hydration Therapy, plus on-site devotional activities and trips outside.

Transportation is available for doctor's visits or group outings. The facility features high-tech alarm systems and secured layouts, with memory boxes by rooms and clear walking paths to make life less confusing for those with dementia. The staff go through special training and education to handle memory care and use tools from their "8 Tips to Choosing a Memory Care Facility" guide. There's help for those who need oxygen, manage diabetes, or can't move around easily, and hospice and home health care services are options too.

Ashley Manor is known for helpful, friendly staff who treat visitors and residents with kindness. The community has earned some awards for care, activities, and meals. The focus here is on meeting the changing needs of seniors, providing both peace of mind and hands-on support, while making the place feel a bit like home. Tours are available for anyone who wants to learn more, and a resource center helps families and residents get information about Alzheimer's and other memory conditions.
