    Moved in, pleased with care

I moved in and I'm very pleased: the caregivers are superior, sincere and genuinely loving, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the elegant, remodeled, resort-like setting with peaceful, beautiful grounds is spotless. My accessible room has good storage and fit my mobility needs, meals are nutritious and delicious, and activities (Bible study, music, games, puzzles, exercise) keep me engaged.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback for Mountain Springs Assisted Living Center is mixed, with a clear split between strong praise for interpersonal care and concerns about certain operational practices. Positive accounts emphasize compassionate caregiving, respectful staff interactions, and staff knowledge of regulatory or admission requirements. Several reviewers described rooms that are spacious, with ample storage and restroom accessibility, and many praised the recently remodeled, resort-like décor and scenic, peaceful grounds.

Care quality is viewed positively by those who experienced attentive, sincere caregivers; families noted genuine warmth and respectful interactions. However, other reviewers raised facility-level concerns: the center appears to operate at a lower acuity level (board-and-care), so it may not be appropriate for residents needing higher clinical support. Additional operational issues include high staff turnover, occasional delays in responding to call bells, and inconsistent timing for medication and meal delivery — all of which can affect families’ confidence in day-to-day clinical reliability.

Dining and activities receive divergent feedback. Several reviews applaud nutritious, well-presented meals and a friendly kitchen staff, while other accounts point to interruptions in meal delivery. Activity programming includes bible study, music, games, puzzles, and exercise classes that some residents find engaging; at the same time, a different set of experiences describes limited social interaction and a predominantly television-based routine, suggesting variability in how consistently group engagement is offered.

Facility- and management-related themes are also mixed. The property’s remodeled common areas and attractive landscaping are frequently highlighted, yet some reviewers described inconsistent room maintenance and localized odor concerns. The center’s remote, countryside location contributes to a peaceful ambience but also limits cellphone/service connectivity and access to nearby amenities. Finally, a few reviewers perceived management as prioritizing appearance over care-process improvements, and there were notes about inconsistent professionalism during tours and admissions communication. Prospective residents and families should verify the facility’s clinical capability, inspect specific rooms for maintenance, ask about staffing stability and response-time metrics, and confirm connectivity and transportation options before deciding.

About Mountain Springs Assisted Living Center

Mountain Springs Assisted Living Center sits at 3254 Spirit Lake Cutoff Rd in Spirit Lake, Idaho, in a quiet area with pretty gardens and peaceful outdoor spaces, and when you come in, you'll notice the main building has sixteen beds with a mix of private suites, single rooms, and double rooms, plus a hospice unit called Sunset Blvd that has eight private rooms so families can visit. The community lets seniors choose between assisted living, memory care, independent living, and senior apartments, and folks can bring their pets and enjoy indoor common areas, meal services with vegetarian choices, and lots of onsite activities. There's a food committee that meets every month to go over menus and dining options, including an all-day menu and a 24-hour snack and coffee bar, and meals get served in a way that pays attention to different resident needs.

The center offers personal care and help with daily stuff like bathing, dressing, and medications, and the staff-who are there all the time, including a nurse-get extra training to help people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory challenges, especially in the special Memory Lane care section, opening in 2025, which has alarms and bracelets to keep people safe if they wander or get confused. Some residents deal with behavior issues or need help with medicine, insulin, or blood sugar checks, and the secure memory care area is built just for them. The grounds have paved walking paths, raised gardens, and there are plans for waterfalls and koi ponds, so you can take quiet walks outside or visit with neighbors.

Technology is everywhere-there are senior-friendly cell phones, cable and internet plans, and safety devices like Bay Alarm Medical, Medical Guardian, and ADT Medical Alert along with guides about medical alert systems and home safety for seniors. Residents get access to support with hearing aids, from OTC options to reviews like Jabra or MDHearingAid, which can come in handy for people losing their hearing. Social activities and programs, set up by a dedicated life enrichment team, range from art therapy and fitness classes to games, parties, and friendly talks, with the idea that making friends and staying busy matters when you get older.

The facility sticks to aging in place, so folks can stay right there even if their needs change, and if someone needs nursing care, in-home help, or a break through respite care, that's all available, along with transportation and hospice support, if needed. Guests find private or shared rooms, walk-in showers that are wheelchair-friendly, and private suites with their own kitchenette, smart TV, and heated massager chairs. Smoking's only allowed outside, and both men and women are welcome to move in, as long as they meet the community's minimum age rule. There are plans for more housing in the near future-seven duplex cottages for independent living should open in 2026, with garages and more room to spread out. The whole team focuses on giving simple, steady care, and residents can keep on with their lives while getting the help and support that fits their needs.
