    Caring staff clean community activities

I'm very pleased with the caring, professional staff - including an excellent social worker - at this clean, small, welcoming community; lots of activities (karaoke, live music, outings), strong rehab and hospice-focused care, private rooms/showers, and genuinely warm smiles make me comfortable recommending it and considering a move-in if needed.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback for Haven of Meadowbrook is mixed, with a substantial number of family members and residents praising the interpersonal side of care while others describe significant operational and clinical concerns. Strengths most commonly cited include a compassionate caregiving team, a cohesive small-staff culture, and a well-regarded hospice program that families found professional and comfort-focused. The facility's activities and social programming are frequently praised — examples include live music, karaoke, community outings, and celebratory meals — and several reviewers highlighted accessible amenities such as private rooms with in-room televisions and private bathing options.

Care quality perceptions vary. Many families described attentive, patient staff and positive experiences with physical therapy and hospice providers. At the same time, multiple accounts identify gaps in clinical follow-up and medication handling that affected confidence in daily medical management. There are also descriptions of delayed responsiveness or inconsistent attention to resident needs; taken together, these suggest variability in how promptly clinical and personal-care needs are met.

Facility and operational themes are similarly mixed. Several reviewers described the environment as clean and welcoming, and community meals and holiday events received positive mention. However, other reviewers raised sanitation concerns in resident rooms and transport vehicles, and noted inconsistencies in environmental upkeep. Concerns about personal-property safeguards and inventory control were raised, as were issues with billing transparency and clarity about private-room assignments and Medicaid/financial arrangements.

Staffing, training, and management communication are recurrent patterns. Many reviews commend staff warmth, teamwork, and a positive workplace spirit; conversely, others indicate unprofessional interactions, poor communication, and unresponsiveness from some employees or departments. Reviewers suggested a need for additional staff education in resident rights, dignity-preserving practices, and clinical procedures. A few serious individual claims concerning staff conduct were mentioned; these stand apart from broader operational critiques and would warrant investigation by management or regulators to determine facts and appropriate corrective action.

For prospective residents and families: this facility appears to offer strong hospice support, an active social calendar, and a personable caregiving culture in many cases. At the same time, prospective families should ask targeted questions during tours and admissions about medication-administration procedures, property-security practices, billing transparency, transportation protocols, sanitation standards, and staff training on resident rights. Requesting recent inspection reports, staff-training records, and examples of how the facility addresses and documents complaints will help assess whether the facility’s operational practices align with the positive caregiving experiences some reviewers described.
