    Very satisfied with Cedarhurst care

I moved my mom into Cedarhurst and overall I'm very satisfied. From Cheri guiding a seamless admission to the welcoming front desk and caring aides, the staff have been patient, kind and attentive. The building is beautiful and spotless, meals are tasty with alternatives, and the activity program (Lori) keeps residents engaged. Nursing leadership (Miranda, DeVonna) and the care team are compassionate and communicative - my mom is happy and well cared for, so I would recommend Cedarhurst.

    Summary of reviews

Cedarhurst Senior Living of Frankfort is widely described as a new, clean, and well-appointed assisted living and memory-care environment with many built-in amenities. Reviewers commonly highlight the facility's attractive interior, apartment-style suites with ample living space and closets, and on-site features such as a salon, café, movie theater, courtyard, and therapy/rehab services. The physical environment and amenities are a clear strength and appeal to families seeking modern, single-floor assisted living or memory-care layouts.

Staffing and direct care receive consistently positive commentary alongside some variability. Many families and residents praised nursing leadership and individual caregivers for compassion, responsiveness, and strong bedside care; call-button responsiveness and 24/7 assistance were repeatedly noted as strengths. Life-enrichment staff and activity directors are frequently described as proactive and engaging, with a robust calendar of events, outings, and creative programming that supports social connection and engagement for many residents. Family communication tools such as an app that shares daily activities and photos are valued by relatives.

Dining and day-to-day operations show mixed signals. Several reviews applaud meal quality and flexibility, while others raise concerns about inconsistent service levels, bland or diminished offerings, short staffing in the dining room, and occasional shortages of staples. Housekeeping and laundry were also described unevenly: while many report clean rooms and common areas, some families cited sporadic housekeeping lapses, mixed-up clothing, and inconsistent trash or towel handling. There were occasional notes about odor concerns in specific apartments or areas, though the overall facility cleanliness was often described as good.

Management and operational consistency emerge as the area with the most notable patterns. Multiple reviews reference communication breakdowns during admissions and move-in (including delays in equipment delivery and refund processing), unreturned calls, and administrative turnover. Several reviewers raised concerns about staffing stability and training—phrased as high turnover, variable day-to-day coverage, and occasional deviations from expected clinical or procedural norms. These operational irregularities link to other themes: families who experienced strong, consistent staffing described very positive outcomes, whereas those who encountered gaps cited diminished value relative to cost and, in some cases, decisions to move residents elsewhere.

Overall, Cedarhurst Frankfort presents as a modern, amenity-rich community with many examples of high-quality, compassionate care and an active activity program. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's physical environment and strong individual caregivers against reported variability in staffing, housekeeping, dining service, and administrative communication. When considering this community, families may benefit from direct inquiry about current staffing stability, housekeeping and laundry protocols, dining staffing plans, and written timelines for move-in logistics and billing to set clear expectations prior to admission.
