    Friendly staff, clean community amenities

I'm a resident and overall very pleased - staff and managers are friendly, responsive and personable, neighbors are welcoming, and the community is clean and well maintained. Apartments are a good size with working appliances and HVAC; laundry and amenities (workout room, library, community/sitting areas) on each floor, a walking path, a weekly Walmart bus, timely maintenance, and social activities like bingo make it easy to recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Lakewood Tower Apartments presents as a generally well-kept independent-living community with a number of built-in amenities that residents and families value. Common strengths include clean interiors and maintained grounds, laundry rooms and community/sitting areas on each floor, on-site fitness rooms, functional appliances and HVAC systems, and regular transportation to local shopping. Residents also frequently describe the community as welcoming, with friendly neighbors and staff; timely completion of many maintenance requests and available social offerings such as games and a bingo night are cited as positive features.

As an independent-living facility, traditional clinical care services and dining are not central to the offering; reviewers explicitly noted the absence of a dining program and that direct care needs are not applicable. Activity programming appears mixed: some residents praise games, conversation groups, community rooms, and newly introduced events, while others describe limited programming options. Apartment sizes and common-area amenities (library, workout room, community spaces) are seen as supportive of independent living and social engagement when offered.

Several operational and management patterns emerge that prospective residents should consider. There are recurring sanitation concerns tied to exterior waste areas and dumpster access, and reviewers describe delays in certain building repairs and security-related maintenance. Exterior environmental issues were also noted: noise intrusion for some units and gaps in winter maintenance procedures that have safety implications. Financial and administrative processes show inconsistency in move-out charge assessments and billing resolution, leading to disputes over flooring and carpet-related charges in some cases. Finally, management quality and responsiveness appear variable; while some reviewers describe attentive, friendly property staff, others cite turnover and periods in which managers were difficult to reach.

Overall, Lakewood Tower offers many of the physical amenities and a community atmosphere that independent-living residents seek, but attention to exterior maintenance, noise mitigation, winter safety, and consistent management communication would address the most commonly raised operational weaknesses. Families and prospective tenants may wish to ask about current management stability, specific winter-safety protocols, waste-area maintenance schedules, and the facility's move-out billing procedures during a tour or before signing a lease.

    About Lakewood Tower Apartments

Lakewood Tower Apartments has 80 independent living apartment homes in a six-story building built in 2003, where each unit has between 610 and 762 square feet of space, giving a choice of one or two bedrooms and one bathroom, so people can pick what fits them best, and dogs and cats are both welcome since they have pet-friendly policies, so residents don't have to give up their pets if they move in. The apartments have accessible laundry facilities on every floor, which people find handy, and there's a workout room residents can use if they want to keep active. Every floor has sitting areas for playing games, talking, or doing activities, and gathering rooms for social events or group activities, which makes it easy to get to know neighbors if that's important to someone. The building offers controlled access to keep residents safe, and residents can park for free, which is convenient for those with cars. People staying here can enjoy a lake view that brings some peace and calm. The office manager is known for being friendly and patient, helping everyone through the application and move-in process, and answering questions after they've started living there, so there's always someone to talk to about concerns or needs.
