    Attentive staff and happy mom

I moved my mom into Crosstown Square and have been very pleased - the staff (especially Director Lanette) are attentive and kind, the food is consistently delicious, and the activity calendar keeps her engaged and social. The building is immaculate, welcoming, dog-friendly and fosters a strong sense of community and independence, with helpful family communication and convenient hospital connections. She's happier, well cared for, and I highly recommend Crosstown Square.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Crosstown Square Senior Living is portrayed consistently as a community-oriented independent living option with strong emphasis on social engagement, resident well-being, and family communication. Many families and residents emphasize the facility’s welcoming atmosphere, active communal life, and the staff’s attentive approach. The site appears to deliver reliable transition support for older adults moving toward independent living and provides amenities such as guest rooms and a connection to nearby hospital services that contribute to peace of mind. Care and staff Care quality and staff behavior are recurrent strengths in the feedback. Reviewers describe staff as caring, attentive, and proactive — with examples of frequent updates to families, assistance navigating benefits and Medicare, and management support during transitions. Leadership presence and hands-on coordination are noted as contributors to a steady environment; one staff member was highlighted for assistance with legal/benefit matters. The facility also accommodates private caregivers when needed and emphasizes resident checks and oversight, which families reported as reassuring. Dining and activities Dining and the social program are among the most frequently praised aspects. Meals are described as varied, nutritious, and well-liked by residents; dining-room interaction is highlighted as a social focal point. The activities program is described as robust and diverse, encompassing daily options, holiday and themed events, outings and bus trips, and seasonal entertainment. These programs appear to foster social connections, reduce isolation, and support residents’ emotional well-being. Facilities and amenities Physical plant descriptions are generally positive: reviewers mention cleanliness, attractive seasonal decorations, remodeled areas, handicap accessibility, outdoor walking paths, and a homelike atmosphere. The facility offers features that support independence (well-appointed apartments, communal dining, rental guest rooms) and a sense of community (holiday parties, regular entertainment). At the same time, a small number of comments point to infrastructure items requiring attention, such as heating-system work and the presence of older building sections that would benefit from further refurbishment. Management and notable patterns Management and front-desk leadership receive positive mention for responsiveness and family communication; assistance with benefits and placement logistics is singled out as helpful. The dominant pattern across reviews is one of high resident and family satisfaction driven by staff engagement, food service, and active programming. Cost perception varies: while some reviewers described apartments as affordable, others characterized the community as relatively expensive, indicating differences in perceived value depending on individual circumstances. Operationally, the main facility-level concerns to verify during a visit are infrastructure maintenance plans and pricing/contract clarity. Summary recommendation For prospective residents and families prioritizing social engagement, attentive staff, strong dining, and an active independent-living environment, Crosstown Square appears to be a strong candidate. Visitors should tour both individual apartment units and common areas to assess condition and ongoing maintenance needs, and discuss pricing and contract details with management to ensure the community aligns with financial expectations.

    About Crosstown Square Senior Living

Crosstown Square Senior Living sits over in Silvis, IL, where folks can find all kinds of help and support, whether they're looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, or long-term nursing care, and they've got a person-centered approach that really pushes for wellness and lets everyone be involved however they want to in the community-so you'll see programs that help people keep their independence, along with short-term rehab if you've had a hospital stay and need to get back on your feet. Staff includes nurses on-site day and night, and you'll see internal medicine practitioners, psychiatrists, and even psychoanalysts dropping in, plus therapists for physical, occupational, and speech therapy using up-to-date equipment, and they even house the Genesis Sleep Disorders Center inside the building in case someone's having trouble sleeping and needs help from specialists. There's a focus on holistic health, not just the body, so activities, devotional times, social outings, and programs look to support mind, body, and spirit, and you can always find something going on, whether it's exercise in the fitness center, getting a haircut or spa treatment at Cascades Salon & Spa, or taking your dog for a walk in the courtyard or the dog park, which sits right near the walking paths outside.

The community runs from 7 in the morning until 8 at night with an on-site concierge and attendants for those daily questions, and the building has security features like medical alert systems, security services, and medication dispensers if someone needs them. Crosstown Square also offers in-house meal service, making sure three well-balanced meals are served daily with good ingredients, and there are common areas indoors and outdoors, so residents can spend time alone or with others as much as they like. Folks can choose from independent living apartments or more supported setups like senior apartments, condos, and even townhomes, and if you need help with daily things-bathing, dressing, taking medicine-that's covered, as well as extra health services like diabetic care, incontinence care, and non-ambulatory care, whether short-term or for the long haul. If someone's looking for more options, they've got a sister site called Illini Restorative Care, a 5-star health center nearby, and both places are tied into a network that helps with everything from transportation and home care to caregiver support and adult day services. There's always new programs and events, reliable staff, and a goal to be a comfortable place with a supportive feel, keeping each resident's dignity and choice front and center while quietly handling the details in the background.
