    Excellent staff, therapy; concerns remain

I'm grateful for the kind, caring staff, excellent therapy and recovery support, good food and a pleasant, well-appointed campus - my mother improved and stayed active. That said, the place seems understaffed and overworked, causing long waits, inconsistent medication/neck-brace care and at least one safety incident that led to a hospital visit. Housekeeping and maintenance were uneven: stained/sticky carpets, urine incidents and unresolved work orders were worrying. High out-of-pocket costs, no Medicaid acceptance and confusing billing were frustrating, so I recommend it primarily for the staff and therapy but with caution about staffing, cleanliness and billing.

The facility provides assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, long-term care, transitional care, adult day services, and short-term rehabilitation for seniors who need help between hospital and home, with private living spaces that might have kitchenettes, and several options for room layouts like studios, one-bedroom, suites, semi-private, shared, or companion rooms, some with private showers. Staff is known for being helpful and responsive. The nursing home section holds a 3-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, while the average community rating is 8.5 out of 10. The community welcomes pets, offers daily programs and life enrichment activities, and makes spaces for conversation both indoors and outdoors, including outdoor seating, a resident garden, and common areas where people can spend time with friends or family in a calm and pretty place. Onsite services include a salon, a bistro, a private dining room, wireless internet, and individually controlled heating and cooling. Residents get chef-prepared meals three times a day in a restaurant-style dining room, with attention to dietary and nutritional planning, and there's laundry, maintenance, housekeeping, linen service, utility costs, and cable TV all included, plus transportation, handicap parking, and other support. Forest Park Health Campus operates 24 hours a day, every day, with 24/7 nursing care, medication management, personalized care plans, emergency alert systems, and English-speaking staff who help with daily activities. While the community prides itself on meaningful social and recreational programs, strong Midwest hospitality, and providing a nurturing, supportive setting that tries to make people feel independent and dignified, it currently isn't accepting new residents.
