Dooley Center

Dooley Center sits on the peaceful grounds of Mount St. Scholastica and has cared for aging Benedictine Sisters since 1971, offering a faith-based and supportive place where sisters can stay close to their monastic community, participate in communal prayer, join in the Eucharist, and live out Benedictine values, and while it's made for the sisters who are part of the monastery, the center gives them skilled nursing care with 44 beds and round-the-clock medical support for elderly residents who need help, whether for the short or long term, and provides for their needs in a facility shaped by care, compassion, and dignity. The staff help with assisted living, memory care for sisters with dementia, and other care types like home health and respite care so sisters can feel secure and supported, and the meals get prepared by planners who think about what's good for their health, and there are indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxation, reflection, and community programs. The Sophia Spirituality Center and Keeler Women's Center offer space for personal and group retreat, spiritual direction, and growth, with Souljourners and other programs that let the sisters stay connected to faith and spiritual life, and there's also a newsletter for reflections and updates, a gift shop for community items, and activities that encourage sisters to stay engaged, active, and present with each other and their faith. Owned and guided by the Benedictine Sisters and Mount St. Scholastica, the Dooley Center follows a long-held mission to serve and support the aging sisters in a comfortable, homelike setting, and while it has received awards for high-quality care and a welcoming community, it is a special place meant for the monastic community, honoring each resident's dignity from beginning to end.
