    Renovated campus with excellent care

I moved in after surgery and couldn't be happier. The renovated, beautiful campus with river views, five-star dining and top-notch amenities (pool, gym, salon, workshop) feels inviting, clean and safe. The staff are warm, hands-on and highly skilled-excellent short-term rehab and personalized PT/OT-and the large, active community offers nonstop activities, lectures, music and outings, so I feel cared for and worry-free; I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries for Newbury Court is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the staff as a central strength: described as friendly, professional, compassionate, helpful, and knowledgeable. Multiple comments emphasize supportive leadership and a genuine, hands-on caregiving team that is attentive to residents' needs. Communication is noted as excellent in post-surgery and rehab situations, and short-term rehab and nursing care are cited as high quality and transformative for many residents. Personalized physical and occupational therapy and invigorating exercise offerings are specifically praised, indicating robust clinical and wellness support.

Facilities and amenities receive consistent praise. The community is described as beautiful and well maintained, with updated renovations, clean common areas, and pleasant aesthetics. Outdoor spaces — gardens, conservation land, and a picturesque river backdrop — are repeatedly mentioned as attractive features. Indoor amenities are extensive and include an indoor pool, gym, workshop, and artist studio, along with on-site salon and pedicure services. These tangible offerings support both active lifestyles and convenience for residents.

Dining and programming are standout themes. Multiple reviewers call the food gourmet or five-star, noting a wide variety of menu choices, a wonderful dining hall, and accommodating service (including late dinners). Activities are described as endless and diverse: exercise classes, lectures and continuing education, musical performances, special interest groups, committees, trips, and daily programs. This breadth of programming contributes to a vibrant social environment in which residents are active, engaged, and often described as flourishing.

Community life and social impact are strong positives. Reviewers portray Newbury Court as a welcoming community with a large, active resident population (around 400), which many see as a benefit because it provides options for engagement and a lively atmosphere. Families report feeling safety and peace of mind from the community’s care and oversight. Many comments describe heartfelt interactions between staff and residents and a genuinely caring culture.

Noted concerns are few and generally limited or specific. One review mentions a resident whose health declined after a bad fall and who required increased at-home care; this is an isolated negative outcome in the set of summaries and may point to the importance of fall prevention and individual health trajectories rather than a systematic failure. There is an idiosyncratic complaint about a food item (hot fudge sauce). A small number of comments indicate the campus may not be ideal as a workplace, suggesting employee experience could differ from resident-family perceptions; this warrants attention if staffing culture or retention are priorities. Finally, while many reviewers view the sizable community as a strength, prospective residents seeking a very small, intimate setting might consider community size a drawback.

In sum, the reviews portray Newbury Court as a high-quality senior living community with excellent caregiving, strong rehab and therapy services, exceptional dining, abundant activities, and attractive grounds and amenities. The dominant themes are effective, compassionate staff; robust clinical and wellness resources; varied and engaging programming; and a well-maintained, beautiful campus that delivers peace of mind to families. Minor, isolated concerns appear in the set but do not materially alter the overall positive assessment. Prospective residents and families should consider the large community size and, as with any senior living decision, review fall-prevention and individualized care plans during tours and discussions with management.
