    Compassionate clean organized long-term care

I'm very pleased with my dad's care here - the facility and rooms are spotless, meals are simple but varied, and housekeeping keeps everything fresh. The nursing team, caregivers and social worker are compassionate, professional and attentive; special thanks to Bridget Walker, Benita Clark, Nichelle Butler and Dr. Soudhi for their leadership and consistent communication about appointments. The community is welcoming with fun activities and outings, accepts Medicaid, and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking caring, organized long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews for StoneBridge Senior Living are highly mixed, with a distinct split between families praising specific staff and services and others describing serious operational shortcomings. Many comments highlight individualized strengths—clean rooms, attentive nursing, strong social work support, active housekeeping, and a lively activities program—while separate narratives identify recurring systemic problems that have direct implications for resident safety and well-being.

Care quality and clinical concerns: Several reviewers describe compassionate and knowledgeable nursing staff who provide good bedside care and clinical coordination. At the same time, a pattern of clinical shortfalls is evident in other accounts: staffing shortages and turnover appear to contribute to delayed responses to medical needs, inconsistent medication administration, delayed wound care, and lapses in monitoring medical devices. These issues suggest gaps in clinical incident response and escalation protocols that should be evaluated by families and regulators.

Staffing and staff conduct: The facility receives praise for individual caregivers and social workers who are described as supportive and respectful. However, operational weaknesses are frequently attributed to low staffing levels, high staff turnover, and uneven staff training or certification. Reviewers indicate that these workforce challenges correlate with inattentive care episodes, missed tasks, and variable professionalism. Communication tone and responsiveness from some employees and administrators are another recurring concern.

Dining and nutrition: Feedback on dining is mixed. Positive comments describe simple, varied meals and acceptable food quality, while negative accounts cite inconsistent meal delivery, missed trays, and weight-loss concerns. These patterns point to variability in meal-service continuity and nutrition monitoring that prospective families should assess directly.

Activities and facilities: Many reviewers note a strong program of activities, community outings, and a positive team spirit among residents and staff. Facility cleanliness is routinely praised in several accounts, including effective housekeeping. Nevertheless, other reviews raise sanitation and odor-control concerns in specific areas, along with inconsistent linen and laundry practices. This divergence suggests that housekeeping performance may be uneven across units or shifts.

Management and communication: Management receives both commendations for being welcoming and criticisms for inadequate responsiveness. Several comments highlight administrators and named staff who provided good support, while other reviewers describe difficulties reaching leadership, unresolved grievances, and blocked contact attempts. Allegations of missing personal items and other security concerns are also present; these are serious and warrant follow-up through formal channels.

Notable patterns and takeaways: The dominant pattern is polarization: strong, positive experiences centered on specific staff and services exist alongside accounts of operational failures tied to staffing, training, and process controls. The most consequential themes for resident safety are inadequate staffing levels, gaps in clinical escalation, inconsistent personal-care routines, meal-service interruptions, and sanitation lapses. There are also isolated but serious allegations involving personal property and adverse clinical outcomes; such claims merit verification with regulatory records and facility leadership.

Recommendation for families: Prospective residents and families should perform an on-site visit, ask about current staffing ratios, staff training and certification, incident-response protocols, wound-care procedures, medication-administration checks, infection-control practices, and how the facility handles family communication and grievances. Request recent inspection reports and references from current families to understand whether the positive practices noted by many are consistent and whether the operational weaknesses have been addressed.

    About StoneBridge Senior Living

StoneBridge Senior Living at 6768 N Hwy 67 in Florissant is a family-owned senior living community that provides a wide range of care, including assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, respite, and hospice services, and folks can expect professional staff to be available around the clock for help with things like personal care, dressing, bathing, toileting, medication, and meals-there's always someone there, and you can tell by how they have systems like 24/7 emergency response and special safety features like handicap-accessible rooms and sprinkler systems, not to mention transportation services that get residents to routine medical procedures such as dialysis or other appointments when needed, and they're set up for both short-term and long-term stays, even having a private wing especially for those going through rehab after surgery or major illness, with intense rehabilitation programs in partnership with SSM Rehab, plus their own Bridge Rehabilitation program, which is unique to StoneBridge communities, and if someone needs short stays for recovery, or if the caregiver needs a break, they offer respite care too, all while having special support and programs for people with Alzheimer's or dementia.

The rooms come with kitchens or kitchenettes, housekeeping services, washers and dryers, and some showers are wheelchair accessible, and the building includes both indoor and outdoor gathering areas like activity rooms, community living rooms for movies, a gazebo, and spaces for families to visit. Meals are prepared by chefs, and two meals a day are offered in both assisted and independent living, which makes things easier for everyone, and they offer laundry service and help with dressing and grooming whenever needed, plus extras like a salon/barbershop, podiatry visits, wound care, and occupational therapy right onsite, and you'll often find wellness classes and devotional activities too. Residents can enjoy social activities, arts and crafts, educational and health programs, and there's wifi, guest parking, and places to walk or rest both inside and out.

StoneBridge works with Medicaid, Medicare, social security disability, and other support programs, which helps with care costs, especially for those with memory care needs, which tend to be higher, and the ratings for the facility currently average 2.9 out of 5 based on 26 reviews, so people have different experiences, but the community seems to put an effort into offering help for everything seniors might need as they age. There's also a "Caregiver Tips" section that explains the difference between assisted living, independent living, and nursing home care, so families have some guidance when making choices.

The staff aims to create a friendly and positive atmosphere, promoting activities to keep residents engaged and support their well-being and, though no place is perfect, StoneBridge offers a lot of choices, services, and supports, all in one place, and their care planning can be tailored for each person, with options to schedule consultations for anyone thinking about moving in.
