    Attentive compassionate staff, excellent care

I moved my mom in recently and have been very pleased. The staff are attentive, compassionate, and responsive; the community is clean, attractive and well-maintained with spacious rooms and balconies, good dining options, transparent pricing, and strong memory-care amenities. There are lots of engaging activities (live music, exercise, outings), quick move-in and clear communication - a warm, resident-focused place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Park Place at Winghaven is consistently described as a visually appealing, hotel-like senior community with strong communal amenities. Reviewers highlight well-maintained grounds, a welcoming entry, koi pond and courtyard features, an attractive lobby, and numerous gathering spaces such as a movie theater, game rooms, salon, and library. Apartment layouts are generally characterized as spacious and well-appointed (many with balconies), and the community offers indoor pool and spa facilities with aquatic exercise classes that many residents find beneficial.

Activity programming is a clear strength: the community offers a broad calendar that includes outings (ballgames, concerts, shopping), live performers, exercise and art classes, card and puzzle groups, and specialty events. Families and residents frequently praised staff who run activities and described meaningful social opportunities and transportation/shuttle service for off-site trips. Independent-living residents and families often report that the social environment and programming are robust and contribute positively to quality of life.

Dining receives mixed but detailed commentary. The facility provides restaurant-style service, menu choices, family dining options, and social features such as happy hour and an ice-cream bar. Many reviewers praised the dining rooms and certain meals (roast beef, varied entrees). At the same time, there are repeated operational concerns about meal temperature, occasional overcooked vegetables, and the suitability of some menu items for residents with dietary restrictions (including diabetes). Several families described inconsistent accommodation of special diets and intermittent service gaps during busy times.

Care and clinical oversight present a mixed picture. Numerous reviewers commend individual aides, nurses, and managers for compassionate, attentive care and quick medical assessment when needs arise. However, a notable pattern of concerns centers on inconsistent clinical practices: medication-administration control gaps, variability in adherence to care plans, and limited nursing presence at times. Memory-care families described protocol and supervision gaps in parts of the care neighborhood; these accounts are associated with worries about sanitation processes and laundry handling in those areas. Together, these items suggest variability in clinical consistency and training across units.

Management and operational reliability emerge as an important theme. Multiple accounts reference leadership turnover, staff attrition, and uneven follow-through on promises made during tours or move-in (transportation, orientation ambassador roles, and billing policies). These systemic issues appear to affect continuity of care, family communication, and residents' access to some advertised services. Other operational items mentioned include intermittent maintenance or building-system faults (for example elevator reliability) and questions about transparency of extra fees for certain medical supplies or services.

In summary, Park Place at Winghaven offers strong physical amenities, an engaged activity program, and many individually praised staff who can provide attentive, resident-centered support. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against patterns of inconsistent staffing, leadership change, and variability in clinical and housekeeping processes—especially in assisted-living and memory-care areas. A focused tour that asks specific questions about staffing ratios, medication and laundry protocols, dining accommodations for special diets, and recent leadership changes will help families evaluate current operational stability and fit for a given care level.

    About Park Place at Winghaven

Park Place at Winghaven sits in WingHaven, close to shopping and dining, and is a community that takes care of seniors with different needs, offering independent living, assisted living, Valeo™ memory care, and skilled nursing in a state-licensed environment, so folks can get more help if their health changes over time. The place has apartments filled with natural light, some with kitchens, and plenty of styles to choose from, so residents can find a space that feels right to them, and there are always plenty of things happening thanks to Valeo™ Signature Programs and the Salus™ and Valeo™ by Solvere wellness philosophies, which focus on the whole person-physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs. For those living with Alzheimer's or other memory problems, there's a dedicated Valeo™ memory care neighborhood that's built to support individual strengths and celebrate each resident's life, aiming to give comfort, purpose, and enjoyment every day. The building has three lounge areas, a movie theater, library, computer lab, billiard and shuffleboard tables, a beauty salon and barbershop, an interior courtyard with a koi pond and putting green, and even an indoor pool and hot tub, so there's always somewhere to relax or something to do. The dining service runs like a restaurant any time of day and serves chef-prepared seasonal meals in a handful of different spots around the property. The Wellness Counts program includes a fitness center, water aerobics, exercise classes, blood pressure checks, flu shots, and talks about health, plus meal planning to help with nutrition. The grounds have lovely walking spots and lots of space to enjoy the outdoors, and since it's pet-friendly, folks can have their pets with them, too. Park Place handles the chores with weekly housekeeping, laundry, and linen services, and has a 24-hour emergency alert system along with a full-time nursing staff who help with medication and daily activities when needed, so people can feel safe and supported. Scheduled van rides help residents get around town, whether it's for errands, doctor's visits, or just a day out, and the community gives tours so people can see what daily life looks like here-including meals, activities, and how neighbors get along. The staff tries to help everyone make the right choices for their needs, and there's a gallery of photos and resource guides to help families understand their options. Folks here get the chance to try new things, meet others, and stay active, but there's always help close by whether living on their own or needing more care as they age.
