    Clean facility with friendly staff

I toured this well-known, amazing facility and was impressed - extremely clean, with fabulous, friendly staff who treat residents with dignity. There are plenty of engaging activities and trips, consistent care with good physician coordination, a big pool, nice cafeteria and cottages, and convenient services like sheets included, laundry options, and group transportation. The director was eager to show me around; overall I'm very satisfied and feel this is a solid choice for seniors seeking a caring, family-like community.

    Summary of reviews

Fountain View presents as a well-maintained assisted living community with a strong emphasis on hospitality and social programming. The facility is consistently described as clean and orderly, with onsite amenities such as a pool, cafeteria, cottages and larger studio units. The environment is arranged to accommodate visitors and communal activities, and basic household services — including linens and a mix of personal and shared laundry options — are part of the offering. Group transportation is included and organized activities and outings are frequent, contributing to an engaged day‑to‑day life.

Staff and care experience elicit mixed but informative signals. Many accounts characterize staff as friendly, respectful and dignified in their interactions, and families have praised physician coordination and adherence to activity schedules. At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns about staffing stability and compensation, which some observers link to recent declines in perceived care consistency. Importantly, the facility appears oriented toward assisted living-level supports rather than higher-acuity medical care; prospective residents with substantial clinical needs should verify the community’s capacity and transfer protocols.

Dining and service-fee arrangements warrant careful review. While food and meal service receive positive comments from some residents, there are also notes about limited dining options and periods of minimal meal coverage (for example, a single main prepared meal). The community charges for certain private services and devices beyond the standard package (examples include fees associated with private doctor transportation and an initial emergency‑call installation), and several comments describe a perception of premium pricing. Verify what is included in the base rate versus a la carte charges, and ask about billing transparency.

Facility layout and policies present additional practical considerations. Bedrooms and two‑bedroom unit configurations are described as relatively small, which may affect roommate arrangements and long‑term comfort. Administrative processes such as move‑out notice windows and upfront payments are explicit features of the community’s policies. Some reviewers view the community as offering good value for the amenities; others feel the operator prioritizes new/visible capital improvements over frontline staffing investment.

Overall pattern: Fountain View is notable for cleanliness, active programming, and a welcoming community culture, with strengths in hospitality and amenity offerings. Simultaneously, there are consistent operational themes that prospective residents and families should clarify during a visit — staffing levels and turnover, the facility’s clinical capacity, meal service scope, specific fees for private services, room dimensions, and contract terms. A guided visit and direct questions about staffing ratios, acuity limits, included services, and fee schedules will help determine whether the community’s strengths align with an individual resident’s clinical and lifestyle needs.

    About Fountain View Assisted Living

Fountain View Assisted Living has 61 apartments with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, and they come as studios, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom options, so folks get their own space with things like cable TV, telephones, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi, which is handy these days, and you'll find they have laundry and housekeeping for less worry. The staff is trained and friendly, ready to help with bathing, dressing, transferring, medication, non-ambulatory care, diabetic care, incontinence care, insulin injections, and even specialized memory care for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, using Montessori principles certified by the Center for Applied Research in Dementia. There's a 24-hour call system, 12-16 hour nursing coverage, and always someone to help, so families feel a bit more secure knowing their loved ones are looked after day and night, and if someone needs a break, they offer respite care for short-term stays, too.

Meals are pretty nice, with a dining room that feels inviting with fresh flowers on the table, attentive service from staff, and chef-prepared plated dinners, sometimes with special touches like milkshakes, and menus that leave room for dietary needs and choices; you get one or two meals a day made by chefs and meal planners who fuss over taste and nutrition, and folks can have friends or relatives join them in the dining area, which adds some comfort. Activities help people stay active and connected, since they've got a full-time social director, a structured program with resident-led and community-planned events, regular day trips, a gaming room, fitness area, small library with Internet, beauty salon, gardens, a wellness center, and even things like outdoor spaces, community-sponsored gatherings, faith-based programs for those who want them, and move-in coordination to make the transition easier. Residents join in on activities that cover social, physical, mental, and emotional needs, and there's always something to do, from spiritual growth activities to games and outings, and the place gets recognized now and then with awards.

They do what they can to keep life comfortable and secure, for folks who want a balance of privacy and social life, with helpful and kind staff who make people feel welcome and supported, and they have a good setup for independent living or folks who need more help, plus skilled nursing, home health, hospice, private duty, and rehabilitation services under the Friendship Village name. It's a place designed to help people live well, stay independent if they can, and not have to worry so much, with plenty of ways to keep busy, healthy, and connected to others.
