    Attentive staff and excellent amenities

I toured this newer, hotel-like community and came away very impressed. The staff were attentive, professional and genuinely caring - intake was thorough and they knew residents by name. Apartments and common areas are bright, clean and well-appointed, with great storage, balconies and on-site services. The activity program, regular outings and excellent dining make it feel like home; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Richmont Village is commonly described as an affordable, value-oriented senior living community with a mix of newer and older buildings. Apartments tend to be larger than average, often offering two-bedroom layouts, in-unit kitchens with full appliances, and on-site storage options. The community supports independent living needs with amenities such as a courtyard, beauty salon, library, woodworking room, community spaces, laundry services, and a parking garage. Transport services for medical appointments and shopping are a consistently noted convenience.

Care and staff quality are among the facility's strongest themes. Many families and residents describe attentive, friendly, and professional staff who know residents by name and provide quick responses to everyday needs. Reviewers describe a family-like atmosphere and appreciation for staff efforts during health and safety events. There are also positive comments about the memory care unit and the sense of security and thoughtful oversight provided to residents.

Dining receives mixed commentary. The facility provides two main meals and options for meal delivery to rooms, and several reviewers praised specific meals and holiday offerings. At the same time, there are recurring notes about limited meal hours, repetitive breakfast rotations, and variability in food quality. Prospective residents should clarify current meal schedules, menu variety, and any additional meal-service options.

Activities and social programming are frequently highlighted as a strength: residents attend day trips, performances, craft classes, game nights, and restaurant outings, contributing to an active social environment. However, some accounts indicate that activity levels can fluctuate over time; families who prioritize a continuous, robust calendar should verify current programming and typical participation levels.

Facility condition is mixed: reviewers praise newer sections for modern décor and hotel-like common areas, while other parts of the campus are described as older and in need of updates. Operational infrastructure concerns include the absence of an on-site backup generator and some accessibility limitations to certain doors, decks, and courtyard access. There are also occasional mentions of odor concerns in some common areas. These are practical considerations for individuals with mobility needs or those sensitive to environmental issues.

Management and communications present a notable pattern. While many reviewers found tours helpful and staff communicative, there are several descriptions of inconsistent responsiveness from leadership, unclear guidance about payor options during transitions, and at least one account of brusque communication from an administrator. These suggest variability in administrative responsiveness; families should ask targeted questions about how the team handles care transitions, billing, and ongoing family communication.

Bottom line: Richmont Village is likely to appeal to prospective residents seeking larger apartment options, a busy activity schedule, pet-friendly policy, and a staff-focused, community-oriented environment at a competitive price point. Interested families should confirm current meal schedules and menu variety, verify the status of accessibility and courtyard access for specific units, inquire about emergency power and backup plans, and discuss the facility's standard approach to family communication and care transition planning before deciding.
