The Terraces at Lawrence sits right off I-95 in historic Lawrenceville, on a large 40-acre healthcare campus with walking paths and gardens, and you'll find a main facility made up of six modern cottages, each designed to house ten residents for a smaller, home-like living setting, so you end up with a quieter atmosphere than most larger nursing facilities, and sometimes families like that. The facility offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home care, and respite care, all with staff available around the clock, so residents don't have to move again for higher care. They have specialized rehabilitation programs for both acute and subacute patients, plus outpatient and inpatient therapies, and the campus is backed by a track record in rehabilitation and clinical services, including the Lawrence Rehabilitation Hospital and Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
There's a focus here on supporting residents' independence with personal care plans, giving people as much autonomy as possible while covering what help they need, and the nursing team, support staff, and multidisciplinary care workers stay on-site to help with health, daily needs, housekeeping, medication, and transportation. The place has a Family Matters Program to keep families involved, and also runs a wide range of community activities, some right on campus in indoor common areas, and others off campus, covering hobbies, games, devotional services, and educational events, usually guided by a dedicated activities director.
Meals come from the kitchen staff and chef, who work to fit individual diets and tastes, and the dining service has even won awards for its food and friendliness. There's a strong community feel, with social time, special events, and space for family visits. Residents can use the Wi-Fi, and pets are welcome as well. Suites and rooms range from studios to one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts, and there are 76 suites in total, with 20 reserved for memory care.
Campus security, transportation, accessibility for people with disabilities, and spiritual care are all part of the services too, and technology is present to help with care and daily living. The Terraces at Lawrence holds a license for Skilled Nursing from the New Jersey Department of Health, and has been offering senior care with a tradition of compassion going back to 1905. The community gives tours, both in person and virtually, to let families see the daily life, dining, and activities on offer. The main focus stays on helping residents feel comfortable, safe, and as independent as possible while getting any care or support they might need.
