    Caring staff, renovated facility, improving

I'm very happy my mother is here - the staff are warm, caring and responsive, and residents genuinely socialize and look out for one another. Under new leadership the facility has improved a lot: cleaner, renovated and spacious rooms, active programming, on-site rehab and medical support, plus helpful services like transportation, laundry and Medicaid assistance. It feels like home, the team listens and goes above and beyond, and I'm confident it's on track to get even better.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Oasis at the Crescent are highly polarized. Many families and residents describe a warm, family-like community with engaged caregivers, active programming, and useful on-site services such as rehabilitation, medical coverage, salon services, transportation, and laundry. Several accounts praise recent leadership changes (executive and clinical directors) and say the facility has improved under new management; those reviewers highlight attentive nursing, welcoming admissions staff, renovated rooms, pet-friendly policies, and regular social activities that contribute to residents’ wellbeing.

At the same time, a substantial portion of feedback raises operational concerns that affect care experience and safety. Sanitation and odor concerns recur alongside pest-control concerns and reports of kitchen- and housekeeping-related problems. Maintenance and infrastructure reliability issues (including water intrusion and ongoing renovations) are mentioned frequently and can create inconsistent living conditions between renovated and unrenovated units. These facility-level issues appear to coincide with episodes of high staff turnover and periods of chronic understaffing, which reviewers link to variability in day-to-day care.

Clinical and care-process issues are a prominent theme. Multiple accounts describe delays or omissions in medication administration and in meal delivery or personal-care tasks; families also report gaps in communication when residents are hospitalized or require physician contact. Personal-property handling and laundry processes are another recurring concern, with complaints about mislabeling, loss, or damaged clothing. A smaller number of reviews make serious claims about missing items or financial misconduct; these are framed here as allegations that warrant verification through official channels.

Dining and activities are mixed. Several reviewers note enjoyable meals, frequent social events (bingo, parties, entertainment), and active programming that supports socialization. Other reviewers describe variable food quality and kitchen hygiene concerns, and some note that activity levels decline when staffing is inconsistent. Staffing and staff conduct are described as uneven: many staff members are characterized as caring and responsive, but there are repeated comments about unprofessional conduct, poor communication tone, and lapses in supervision that can affect resident safety and comfort.

Management and admissions practices elicit contrasting impressions. Positive accounts point to accessible leadership, improvements under new ownership, and staff who go above and beyond. Negative accounts cite management instability, broken commitments (missed tours, scheduling errors, unkept promises), and pressure during admissions. Security and front-desk procedures are also highlighted as areas for improvement, with some reviewers noting lapses that contributed to family concern about resident safety.

Taken together, the pattern suggests a facility with meaningful strengths in community, rehabilitation services, and several dedicated staff members, but also with operational and consistency problems that can materially affect resident experience. Prospective residents and families should inspect recent inspection results, ask for details about current staffing ratios and turnover, review the facility’s pest-control and maintenance plans, clarify medication and hospitalization communication protocols, and verify property-handling and laundry procedures. If considering placement, an in-person visit during peak activity hours and conversations with current families may help assess whether the recent management changes have been sustained in practice.

    About Oasis at the Crescent

Oasis at the Crescent is a senior living community that tries to make life easy for older adults, whether they want to live on their own, need some help with daily tasks, or need advanced care like memory support or nursing care, and folks can choose from independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing home options, all in one place. The community has a dedicated front desk, supervised staff available 24 hours a day, and nurses on-site part-time, with caregivers who help with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, and diabetic care, and they have specialized staff for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, using technology like bracelets to prevent wandering. There's a purpose-built memory care section in a separate building, where they keep everything secure for residents at risk of wandering or showing behavioral symptoms, and staff are trained to support people with behaviors like aggression or exit-seeking, using both stand-by help and lifts for those needing more physical support.

The Oasis at the Crescent community provides different activities for all kinds of interests, from arts and crafts, music, educational classes, gardens, and games, to group meals in a dining room, or room service and guest meals for visitors, with some units offering kitchenettes for those who want to make their own food sometimes. The place is pet-friendly and accepts both dogs and cats, so residents can bring their companions, and there are outdoor spaces, walking areas, even gardens, plus indoor features like a coffee shop, TV room, and community spaces that are accessible by wheelchair, and they also have a lobby with tall ceilings, lots of windows, and a piano. The grounds have plenty of green space, landscaped gardens, and big trees to sit under, making it easy to relax or socialize outside.

Oasis at the Crescent supports independent seniors with services like transportation to shopping, access to in-house therapies like occupational or rehab, and help with daily chores such as laundry, linen changes, and regular housekeeping by on-site staff. Residents can join religious services, which are held both on-site and offsite, and there are indoor and outdoor smoking areas for those who need them. They have language support in English, parking for residents and guests, Wi-Fi and cable in rooms, and a focus on easy living, with meals provided, medication reminders, hospice care, and respite stays available if someone needs short-term help. The whole place tries to create a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere, with a focus on comfort, safety, and keeping seniors active and connected, and the staff have years of experience, showing real care for every resident. The facility operates under state license 15C000.
