    Caring professional staff safe home

My mom is very happy here - the staff (including owner Pat) are caring, professional and patient, give one-on-one attention, and the building is spotless, safe and homey. Meals are varied and good, activities keep residents engaged, and the team is accessible and accommodating to special needs and wheelchair users. I have peace of mind and would highly recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a highly polarized picture of Angel Wings Home Care LLC. On the positive side, many reviewers emphasize a clean, well-maintained facility with a warm, home-like atmosphere. Families repeatedly mention compassionate, patient caregiving and an accommodating management presence that is accessible for questions. The building and rooms are described as in good repair, with practical accessibility features such as walk-in showers, wheelchair-ready accommodations, and a covered outdoor patio. There are multiple references to pleasant group activities (sing-a-longs, crafts, sewing), periodic outings and walks, and on-site training such as CPR instruction. Several reviewers also highlight varied meal offerings and one-on-one attention that provide residents with comfort and peace of mind.

At the same time, a number of substantive operational concerns recur across reviews. Leadership and management stability appear inconsistent: some families credit the owner and new leadership with improvements, while others describe management as inexperienced or overwhelmed. Staffing stability is a clear issue—high turnover and variability in training and conduct are mentioned, which correlates with reports of uneven care quality. Related to this, reviewers raise concerns about medication-management controls and broader safety and security procedures; specific broken equipment and allegations about missing medications suggest weaknesses in facility controls and oversight. There are also notes about inconsistent clinical oversight and transfer/transport practices, which generate questions about how medical escalation and hospital referrals are handled.

Dining and activities are described inconsistently. Several reviews praise the food as varied and satisfying, while others characterize the meals as poor; activity schedules likewise range from well-populated, engaging programs to accounts of minimal programming and residents spending long periods without structured engagement. Communication and family engagement are also mixed: some families report easy contact and responsive management, others report poor communication and defensiveness from staff or leadership.

Taken together, the pattern is one of a facility with strong environmental and interpersonal strengths but noticeable variability in operational reliability. The most consistent positives are the facility’s cleanliness, accessibility features, and the presence of caring staff and management who are helpful for many families. The most important areas for prospective families to verify during a tour are staffing stability and training practices, medication storage and administration protocols, safety/surveillance measures, emergency-transfer procedures, and the consistency of dining and activity programming. Given the divergent experiences reported, an in-person visit, direct questions about policies and staffing, and verification of licensing and credential oversight are advisable before making placement decisions.

About Angel Wings Home Care LLC

Angel Wings Home Care LLC, also called Angel Wings Assisted Living Home Care or Angel Wings Assisted Living Inc., sits in Albuquerque, NM, and provides assisted living and memory care for up to five residents in a calm, beautiful home. The place has a focus on seniors who need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, eating, taking medicine, and moving around. Trained staff work with Alzheimer's and dementia care and follow ongoing training and background checks, so families know people there are supported by workers with proper checks and safety coverage like liability and workers' compensation insurance. They help manage medicine, assist with transfers, handle diabetic and incontinence care, and follow prescribed orders. There's respite care, in-home aid placement, and help arranging financing for long-term stays, so folks can get short-term or longer help depending on what's needed.

Rooms come as studios, one-bedroom, or semi-private, all on the ground floor, and are wheelchair accessible with showers and kitchenettes, internet, satellite TV, air conditioning, and handicap features. There's covered parking, resident parking, and transportation for a fee if someone needs a ride. Staff prepare fresh, homemade meals every day, and menus offer meals for special diets like low sodium, no sugar, vegetarian, chopped foods, and delivery to rooms. A chef runs the kitchen with meals including fruits, vegetables, meats, grains, desserts, and things like that.

Angel Wings organizes activities for people to do, like devotional trips, outings, cooking classes, wine tastings, musical events, light therapy, trivia games, holiday parties, and more, so residents can stay active and connected. There's a café and bistro, a private dining room, communal spaces, and common-sense help with things such as shopping, housekeeping, meal serving, and even driving. Staff also provide company and help people who feel down. The business started in December 2021, is run as a limited liability company by Mrs. Gretchen Valencia, and is licensed and watched by local authorities. The facility isn't certified by Medicare and doesn't take Medicare for payment, but services are focused on giving seniors a safe and comfortable place. It's not a nursing home with round-the-clock medical care, but the team does provide personal support with the basics and makes sure people are looked after and their needs are met. Angel Wings keeps everything simple, aiming for comfort, respect, and quality care as part of daily life.
