    Warm dependable caring senior living

I'm very pleased with this community. The staff are caring, professional and go above and beyond, management is supportive, and the facility is clean and well-maintained. My mom loves her spacious private apartment, restaurant-quality meals, plentiful activities and the safe, family-like atmosphere - she's happier and better cared for here. I would recommend this warm, dependable place for families seeking person-centered senior care.

    Summary of reviews

Ashton Place Senior Living is consistently described as a small, family-owned community with a strong emphasis on clean, well-maintained surroundings and a warm, family-like culture. Reviewers emphasize the quality of everyday life: attentive caregiving staff, an engaged activities program, and visible maintenance and housekeeping services. The community projects a small-town, personalized atmosphere where staff–resident interactions are perceived as compassionate and individualized.

Care quality and staffing are central strengths. Nursing staff and aides are frequently characterized as skilled, patient, and responsive; medication administration and regular resident checks are noted features. The community emphasizes preserving independence while providing escalating support when needed. That said, reviewers indicate there is a practical ceiling on the level of medical acuity the setting will support — some residents have required transfer when care needs exceeded what the facility is structured to provide. Prospective families should verify the exact scope of clinical services and transition processes for higher-acuity needs.

Dining and food service are commonly highlighted as major positives, with descriptions of restaurant-quality meals, varied menus, and pleasant dining environments. Several reviewers praised portion choices and personalized dining. However, a recurring pattern is some variability in meal quality, with specific comments that culinary standards declined for some diners after pandemic-related changes. Families should ask current staff about menu planning, dietary accommodations, and recent consistency in kitchen operations.

Activity programming and resident life are robust. Regular offerings include exercise classes, music programs and live local musicians, crafts, bingo, parties, religious services, and scheduled outings; transportation to appointments and community events is routinely provided. The activity director and social staff receive repeated praise for engagement and organization, contributing to an active social environment that many residents and families find restorative.

Facility features are positively viewed: private, spacious apartments with kitchenettes, balconies or outdoor access in some units, functional bathrooms and storage, and attractive common areas. Maintenance and support staff are described as thorough, contributing to an overall impression of cleanliness and good curb appeal. Management and leadership receive largely favorable comments for professionalism and decisiveness—especially regarding infection-control during COVID-19—though there are occasional notes of administrative inconsistency and at least one strong negative management comment. Cost is another mixed area: some reviewers describe good value, while others characterize the community as expensive or financially unaffordable. Prospective residents should confirm current pricing, fee structures, and what services are included.

Overall, Ashton Place appears well suited to older adults seeking a clean, social, and supportive independent or assisted living environment with strong daily care, engaging programming, and attentive staff. Important due-diligence items for families include clarifying the facility’s limits for higher-acuity medical care, confirming current dining consistency, and reviewing contract terms and pricing to assess financial fit.
