    Spotless welcoming community, excellent care

I placed my mother here and I'm very pleased - the building and grounds are spotless and home-like, the apartments are bright, and the dining is excellent with attentive service. The staff are warm, professional, and truly treat residents like family; activities, the library, and good communication have kept her engaged and eased my worries. Overall a welcoming, well-run community I would recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Peregrine Senior Living at Delmar Place is described frequently as a well-kept, attractive assisted living community with a strong emphasis on hospitality. Reviewers consistently praise the staff’s attentiveness and warmth, noting that many caregivers know residents by name and deliver personalized support. The property’s landscaping, bright common areas, library, and seasonal decorations are repeatedly cited as strengths that contribute to a homelike environment. Housekeeping, laundry, and infection-control practices also draw positive comments, and the facility’s emergency preparedness (including generator backup) is highlighted by several families.

Care and staffing Families and residents report a high level of personal attention from caregivers, with many positive accounts of supportive end-of-life care, timely responses to falls or incidents, and staff who reduce caregiver stress through good communication. At the same time, there is a recurring operational concern about staffing consistency and turnover. Several reviews describe delays in medication administration or coordination challenges with pharmacy services, and a portion of feedback notes limited clinical depth—an RN presence rather than an on-site physician and constrained therapy offerings. These patterns suggest that while day-to-day caregiving is frequently strong, clinical coverage and medication processes warrant direct inquiry during a tour.

Dining Dining quality draws mixed but largely favorable commentary. Many reviewers praise the food, meal variety, special dining events, and an inviting dining room with waiter service and family dining options. Conversely, a number of families reported slower meal delivery, small portions in some instances, and occasional inconsistency in service speed. Prospective residents should ask about meal schedules, portioning, and accommodations for dietary needs to confirm the current dining routines.

Activities and social life The community’s activities program is a clear selling point for many: diverse programming, music, lectures, book delivery, concerts, and both door-to-door and online options during the pandemic were appreciated. Staff and an engaged activities director receive praise for creativity and outreach. Some reviewers, however, felt the schedule skewed toward routine offerings (bingo, card games) and desired more frequent off-site shopping or dining outings. Activity engagement appears strong for many residents but variable depending on individual preferences and mobility.

Facilities and living spaces Physical upkeep is a noted asset—clean public areas, pleasant outdoor spaces, and well-appointed common rooms. Apartments are described as bright and comfortable, with some units offering more generous layouts than others. Space constraints are a consistent operational theme: several reviewers found apartments small for their needs. Ongoing renovations and periodic construction were also mentioned; these projects can cause temporary disruption and prospective residents should ask about timelines and noise or access impacts.

Management and communication Leadership and admissions staff receive frequent commendation for being responsive, welcoming, and helpful during move-in. Named staff were singled out for exceptional service. Nevertheless, there is a contrasting thread of concern about management tone and staff conduct in some accounts; a minority of reviewers described interactions they found unprofessional. Additionally, concerns about extra fees and rate increases appear across comments and may affect perceived value. Communication practices are otherwise often described as clear and reassuring, particularly around transitions and hospital returns.

Notable patterns and guidance for families In summary, Delmar Place presents as a warm, well-maintained community with strong hospitality, engaging common spaces, and many families satisfied with care and programming. The primary operational issues to probe further in a visit are staffing consistency, medication-administration processes and pharmacy coordination, scope of on-site clinical services (physician/therapy availability), apartment size options, and the current status of any construction. Asking specific questions about staffing ratios, medication timing protocols, off-site outing frequency, and a detailed fee schedule will help prospective residents and families balance the generally positive environment against the variability described in some reviews.
