    Homey care with excellent meals

I live here and the food is consistently excellent - low-sodium options, wide variety (ribs, baked chicken, holiday meals) prepared by an amazing chef who cooks with love. Staff are attentive, available, and go the extra mile with personalized care, outings, haircuts and a genuinely caring, well-staffed nursing team. It feels homey and family-like, and I trust it for future care.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews present a mixed picture of Adirondack Manor HFA. Positive accounts emphasize a home-like environment, a caregiving team described as compassionate and attentive, and personalized attention to residents. Several reviews highlight an active social program with outings, holiday events and cookouts, on-site grooming, and a family-like atmosphere. The dining program receives considerable praise from many families for varied menus, attention to dietary needs (including low-sodium options), and special meals prepared with care.

At the same time, a number of operational and safety concerns appear across reviews. There are repeated references to pest-control issues and unclear pest-management protocols, as well as food-safety and kitchen operation inconsistencies that reviewers linked to illness in some cases. Maintenance deficits are described (for example, water-stained ceilings, broken kitchen equipment, and nonfunctional shower-call devices), and there are sanitation and cleanliness inconsistencies in some common areas and rooms. Security and access-control weaknesses (including concerns about external door locking) and lapses in staff identification practices were also noted.

Clinical and administrative areas show variability. While some accounts praise a well-staffed nursing team and individualized care, others describe medication-management lapses and inconsistent staff responsiveness or communication tone at clinical stations. There are also serious governance concerns in a subset of reviews, including allegations of financial exploitation and suggestions that regulatory or code-enforcement attention may be required.

Taken together, the pattern suggests a facility that offers meaningful strengths in social programming, individualized caregiving, and meal variety for many residents, but that also has operational weaknesses affecting safety, sanitation, and administrative controls. Prospective residents and families should balance the positive reports about staff engagement and activities against documented concerns about maintenance, food-safety, pest control, medication processes, security, and financial safeguards. A focused tour that inspects common-area cleanliness, kitchen operations, pest-management protocols, medication-administration policies, security systems, room occupancy arrangements, and financial-protection measures would help clarify whether the facility’s strengths match an individual’s needs and whether outstanding operational issues have been addressed.
